Maybe your jokes suck.
My German husband and his friends and family make some pretty funny Nazi jokes from time to time. It's nothing they shy away from in conversation. I'm guessing your jokes are simply unfunny or very distasteful to Germans, or you need to just give it a rest.

What's it like to be married to a Malaysian then, helpus? At least your name is apt.

I never understand why people ask questions like this. Your marrying the person, not the stereotype. Sure my german bf does some really german things sometime but other times he almost seems kiwi to me. And I'm also jumping on the maybe your jokes just suck side, or your partner just doesn't find that topic funny. My bf once webcamed me with his microphone in front of his nose like a little moustache, cracked up laughing and said oooo look I'm hitler. Yes he is easily amused, maybe he would find your jokes funny.

Mine got a bit humpy when she discovered after about 10 years that the in-laws were referred to as "Adolf and Eva" over on my side.

What's it like to be married to anybody, regardless of nationality?
Yours is an impossible question to answer as it just totally depends on the person and the relationship.

I am a British woman married to a German and am extremely happy. Their cuture is a little different to ours, but that's the joy of living abroad. Things are different and interesting.

Another language would be one of the little cultural differences. If your German partner doesn't understand, throwing a china cup will help get the message across.

Just make sure you keep some money squirreled away.

Difficult to say georgiagirl. I'm only on my second, so I don't feel qualified to comment yet. Let me get through a few more wives first ok, and then I'll let you know what I really think. All I can say at the moment is that they're warm and cuddly, and I've liked both nationalities. I don't really listen to what they're moaning about most of the time though.

I can fully understand that. Confirms the locals worst prejudices about the Brits does it not.

Helpus, how long have known this German girl. Has she introduced to the whips and other things yet. Look for any doors to secret chambers – normally hidden behind wardrobes – could save you some grief later – unless you like that sort of thing.

Please do no start your marriage with this question.
.. What's it like to be married to an American, Indian, Brazilain, Ghanian, French, Jamaican, Mexican, Canadian, Russian, Finnish, the list goes. I hope you use your answers for the better part of your relationship not to judge whether you tie a knot or not. And mind you it is a forum. Good luck.

Girls, don't get too annoyed if your german spouse cheats on you. It's rare to meet german guys who don't mess around on the side. Though, when you consider what german girls can be like (read: difficult, if not impossible), you can't exactly blame them...

Or maybe that's just your experience, seeing as you are a Canadian I am not surprised at all.
