Hi! We are two amateur photographers looking for some willing models to help us expand our portfolios. This is open to anyone... any age group (newborns to seniors), ethnicity, sex, etc. We are very flexible and will work with you to understand what kind shots you are interested in and will cater the shoot to fit your personality and style. For the time being, sessions will take place at various public locations around Munich or at a location of your choice (at your home or near by park for example) and will last 1-2 hours. In return, you will receive a CD with at-least 15 high quality retouched shots that you are free to print at your leisure. If you are interested please reply via PM or send an email to kristin@kristinspeedphotography.com
We look forward to working with you!

Good luck. Finding people to model for free is hard enough, but finding people who can do so is next to impossible. You might want to consider just going out and trying to get random people with a long or DO lens. Tourists are often happy to be photographed.
woof.
I am willing to model for them for free, I have modelled, know the positions and well, I need new photos anyways... will work for both of us.

O I think there will be people who'd like to get a few nice portraits of themselves to send to relatives but don't want to spend any money on it. And we aren't necessarily looking for people with experience, the less experience the more direction we'll have to give, not a big deal.

*sigh* It would be fun, but I live quite a ways from Munich!
I used to model 5 years and ten pounds ago! But I have found that the fountain of youth lies in Photoshop!!

I also had a lot of fun doing the photo shoot. The sun was glaring and the temperatures were below freezing, but we got some fun shots! I've posted smaller versions in the gallery...

The Pictures are heavily photoshoped from what I can see.. therefore are the Photographers Picture taking skills not that good or is it the subject?
EG.. One of Ruthies Pictures looks nothing like her... IMO..
I know Photoshop has its uses and place n the photography world, but to mis-represent someone through electronic manipulation, well...

I expect that the subjects sign a release permitting manual editing. Very striking pictures, some of them.

Apr 1 2008, 9:05 am
SpiderPig...actually I didn't do much editing at all on those shots of Ruthie, especially the second one... It was taken with a Ringlight which gives it that look...and I'd say the shots look just like Ruthie. Thanks for assuming we can't take pictures though!

erdbeere, how do you make the eyes so vivid blue? I've never noticed Ruthie's eyes being that colour before.
You didn't notice mine are? ;-)

Apr 1 2008, 9:14 am
Ruthies eyes look crazy in the 2nd picture because of the light I used...they aren't blue, they are green, just like in real life... just a bit more vivid, which like I said is due to the light used and a bump of the saturation done ont he RAW shot...nothing else.

None the less.. They are Still manipulated !
erdbeere
Apr 1 2008, 9:28 am
yep, but not heavy manipulation as you say... and what photographers these days do in Lightroom or Photoshop is nothing different than what Ansel Adams did in his days in the darkroom. And when you shoot RAW images, you NEED to do some adjusting unlike jpgs that come out of the camera already looking decent.

Is that a sin? I'm increadibly pleased with my pics.

Spiderpig, what exactly are you objecting to? The fact that the photographer was able to manually set the power of the flash and exposure time? Are you going to give them a lecture about how anything less than a hand held tray of magnesium powder is “cheating”

I personally would object to being a photographic subject for someone, then when they actually see the pictures they have taken feel it necassary to change what the actually shot..
its akin to saying " I have taken your pictures and you are a "Frugly tw*t" so I will try my best to make you look good...
I havent said that any pictures are bad... I have said that in One of last batch of Ruthie, I would not have recognised her.
Had I seen her picture on a dating site and then organised a Meeting with her, then I would probably walk straight past her!
I personally had no objections of the photographers touching the photos up.

Oh and in your response to your first remark I just want to add, that Ruthie looked absolutely GORGEOUS at the last session we did with her...I didn't change how she looked in the pictures, that was all Ruthie, and yes, she has very pretty GREEN eyes that I wanted to show up in the pictures.
And on another note, I know not everyone will like my pictures as everyone has different tastes (thank God) and those people will look for photographers with a style they like...no biggie... aslong as everyone who comes to us is happy with their pictures, I'm happy aswell

SP, if you do a bit of research about RAW formats you would inevitably arrive at the conclusion that any conversion between RAW and jpeg or bmp is a manipulation, meaning a creative interpolation between the single pixels in the RAW file (each a different color channel) and the 24-bit resulting image. What erdbeere did is just tweak the parameters of this interpolation.
Real manipulation means changing her eye color from green to purple, or wiping out spots or creases, slimming waists and pumping breasts.
Here's some nice examples. Photo.net has a succinct definition of
manipulated vs. unmanipulated.

I did NOT change the way ANY of our subjects look! nd I am actually quite offended at those accusations...all of our models looked GREAT, I had no need to change the way they look, and I wouldn't want to either... the only adjustments made were color adjustments... if they look good in the shots its because they knew how to work it!
