Shop opening hours during Fasching

Hi,

It is Fasching again, and I am hoping that the city centre shops will be open until early or mid afternoon. Can anybody confirm or deny this?

I know alot of shops are open til 8 as usual, but some might be closing earlier.

the cashier in Kaufhof Marienplatz told me they are open until midday today.

Quite a few round M. Freiheit only till 12 or 1pm, including Karstadt.

How long are the stores closed? Are they open again tomorrow? I am pretty new here and I had a DSL delivery note left here on Friday and I think it days that my two packages are at the "Friseur" across the street but he has a hand written sign taped to his window which I am assuming says something about being closed for the holiday. (I would try to translate it but the handwriting is so bad I can't even figure out what the words are supposed to be). How long do most small shops close for?

most shops are open again tomorrow, but smaller shops/hairsalons ect are closed the whole week, its school holidays this week.
