Hi, What newspapers post obituaries? My uncle, Alexander Bohner, passed February 3rd 2008. He lived in Munich. I cannot find it anywhere.

Hi Ted -
Sorry for your loss. Obits in Germany are not the same as in the US, it's generally a black-bordered, conservative notice in the regional newspapers. Get in touch with the newspapers' classified department - Familienanzeigen.
Keydeck
Merkur lists them on the web but he's not in there. If anything I would have thought it'd appear a few days after, not straight away.

Is that Bohner or Böhner? Spelling will make a difference.
sarabyrd
I will be on the lookout in the Sueddeutsche Zeitung in the next couple of days.

I don't think obituaries are automatic here, I believe they are akin to a "paid advert"...
sarabyrd
The obit is in today's Süddeutsche Zeitung.

"Traueranzeige" is the German word the SZ uses.

Here's Alexander Bohner's entry.
