Hi girls,
I am also up to meeting again and swapping books. I also got a great book last time (Hannahs daughters) and would love some more. August 3rd is fine with me and the lietsensee is a beautiful place to meet.

I'm so sorry I never followed up- finding an apartment, moving from furnished to unfurnished without a car, and lots of craziness:(
I'm handing keys in at my old apt now, so have internet (otherwise no phone/net for two weeks, except for Starbucks visits! )
I'm glad that "All the fishes come Home to Roost" found a good home, and I have others to get rid of as well, so I would like to come around too.
When I checked the listof people that were interested in a book club (women's) last, it was too few to be viable: the other club I am in has more than 30 members and usually 8-12 show up. There were 7 women interested in a book club. I had thought that we would need to repost on Toytown to get enough members to make it work, but I got overwhelmed by apartment hunting and German class, as well as the kids.

ah, I see it was you gail who brought "fishes". thanks again...
yeah, there are a lot of book clubs out there. I am content with this just being a chat and swap group. It def. fits my schedule better.
So if there are no objections lets meet at
Lietzensee park at 3pm on Aug 3. There is a large spielplatz between wundstrasse and the lake lietzensee.
Here is a map
http://www.berlin.de/stadtplan/map.asp?sid...id=7731&numWe can meet on the grass EAST of the spielplatz.
I will bring a bunch of pink balloons and a picnic blanket so you cant miss me
If anyone has to come late that's cool you just wont have first choice on the books.
Food,drink,snacks, books all welcome.
If it rains we can go to a cafe on the corner called "mannstein"

Hi bookswappers! It was nice meeting ya all today.
I was just wondering, can anyone lend me any of the following books:
Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
They are all upcoming books in my bookclub, would be nice to be able to borrow them instead of having to buy them.
Naturally you are welcome to have a browse through my book collection in exchange

Hi book exchange is a very good idea ... just why just limit it to woman? Just asking my reading is more in the line of John Gresham , Gregg Illes, David Baldacci and co. I am open to new authurs too, I have a book with me where ever I go. there is always time to read waitng for anything. Some books get read cover to cover so I save them for when I know I have the next day off

. Whens the next book club exchange?

Well Charlotte, I did request that this time the ladies try have it on a different day to our breakfast. The second Sunday would have been nice, but unfortunately Sunny already has something on on that day.
