Uploaded image visible in Safari, not in Firefox

Some kind of Windows "color working space" error

Hi. just posted on "events in munich" and couldn't get my uploaded image to show up in firefox--neither in the preview post nor in the final posting (i see only "attached image" in text). i quit firefox and also cleared the cache and restarted. same result. double-checked by browsing with safari and the picture showed up as intended. is something up with my firefox settings? is it an inherent problem with firefox? suggestions?

Is the image saved on your hard drive?
tcsx
yes. does that make a difference?
Timmeh
Did it say that the upload is complete and did you then insert the picture with the attachment manager? It's not a prob with FF, it's user error me thinks
FuzzyTony
I'm guessing that it could be a color space problem. Have a look at this article: Surfin’ Safari - Color Spaces.
Timmeh
It's not a colour space issue. I think the file has simply not been uploaded and that safari is looking at the image on the HDD. If you empty the safari cache, you probably won't see the image either.
FuzzyTony
That was my next guess. wink.gif

i did use the attachment manager, and it did tell me the upload was complete.
i just reset/cleared cache in safari and the image is still there. and still not in ff. can someone please surf over and tell me if they see the image? thanks.

It's not there. I think you've missed a step out - there are three: browse, upload & then select the attachment using the 'manage attachments' drop-down. I know it works from FF on Mac as I've done it.

You can only edit for up to 20 minutes unless you become a supporter, when the limit increases to 3 hours or so.

sh.t. thanks for checking. i've tried uploading again in a reply, but same result. strange. i've uploaded photos before with no problem. don't know what's going on...

New FF extension causing compatibility problem?
tcsx
haven't added anything to ff. any other suggestions?
this is really bugging me. in the preview of the post either it shows nothing or says "attachment."
i think i should just go to bed...
Fribble
I don't see it in FF. Fine in Safari, though.
tcsx
strange... anybody with IE? what the heck??...
i guess no firefox users will be coming to the party huh.gif
tcsx
problem solved! (days later...). seems the file was saved as cmyk instead of rgb. guess that's not an issue for safari, but is for ff. thanks for the color space tip... that's what got me thinking about color formats and profiles.
FuzzyTony
There you go. I was right after all. Glad you appreciate the tip. wink.gif
