Soulful house music party at Bar Cennet

As some of you out there know, "house music" events in germany tend towards the techno/electro side of things. for those more accustomed to new york/chicago styles of house, there's little to be found in munich. hence, some friends and i have organized a party for next weekend. if it goes well, it may become a regular event. for this first party, we have a great dj coming down from amsterdam. come check it out if you're looking for a little soul to dance to...

the name we chose is intentionally a reference to paradise garage. not been to the shelter myself, but the place is legendary in the house dance community (as is timmy regisford). eventually, i'll have to make my pilgrimmage.
if you know the music, you should come to the party. when we met the dj, he was actually wearing a paradise garage t-shirt. and his myspace list of musical influences reads like a who's who of jazz, soul, funk, and tru-skool hip-hop. the man knows his music.
if all does go well, we'd like to make this a monthly session (and bring in more acts). we'll see how this first one goes...

Very nice. I used to be a Shelter head from its time in Vynyl (RIP). But in NYC good house sessions are in abundance. Looking forward to hearing more about this. Bring on da funk!

Just want to give this a bump. I met tcfx who is organising this event and it seems that it will be a great evening tomorrow!! And Cennet is my favourite bar/restaurant so that's just perfect!!

So, the last party was such a blast (for myself as well, to be honest), that we're doing it again. As we had some issues with noise and neighbors last time, we're moving the party to... Kultfabrik (yikes!). However, to keep out the drunken riff-raff (as opposed to the drunken ex-pats), we're doing entry by guestlist. Which means if you're even thinking about coming (and, really, who shouldn't be), please email your name(s) to the address on the flyer. Hope to see some of you there!
