Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone lives in or knows anything about a new
district in
Frankfurt called
Riedberg. We're looking into possibly buying land there to build a house and I would love to hear about any first hand experience any of you may have.

I know you posted a while back and didn't see any replies.
Did you manage to find anything out about life there? We are also considering a place there, but are a bit wary of newly constructed suburbs.
Despite the location on my name, I'm only in MUC from Mon to Fri and am back with the family at weekends where we live in the Taunus.

We drove through the neighborhood and personally were not impressed. I felt it was a bit too "cookie cutter" - hundreds of very colorful houses built practically on top of each other. Plus, construction in the area won't be completed until 2017. But it's still worth going out there and checking it out to get an impression for yourself. Good luck with the house hunt!

My office is located just across the way from there. Its not exactly an historic quarter of town and it is a bit too well connected to the adjacent motorways for my liking. It is a new suburb without any bars, restaurants etc but will have a number of primary schools and a secondary school also
If you have a life that requires you to drive somewhere anyway, have kids and want a bit of space, I think the houses and apartments out there offer a lot of bang for your buck compared to accommodation closer into town. Some of the houses have an attractive layout (including a top floor studio room and large dachterrase!)
