I'm tentatively up for a biergarten meetup How can one get to the OEG Bahnhof?

It's wine fest season here in die Pfalz. We've been hitting one every weekend, so if you guys are interested in something along those lines, let me know. And the beach bar is actually pretty cool. Maybe it's time for another RP meetup. Tplayer, you should swing by sometime when you're bored.

And I'm always up for a biergarten. Do they have a bigscreen?

at OEG Bahnhof they do have a big screen but i would not suggest trying to go there on Thurs as its not that big a place!!!

@bohemka: Sure thing - lemme know if you're up for doing something this coming weekend ? hitting a winefest sounds like a good idea. I'm sure we can rope in more people

@Jodie: a meetup tomorrow / Thurs. for bier sounds good. Thurs. is better than Tues. Mannheim is preferable to HD, but I can possibly make it to HD on Thurs. I wouldn't know a good place to suggest, so whatever works is good for me

In MA I would suggest the bars near engelhorn as there are about 5 in a small area with outside screens so a good chance of finding somewhere. Or maybe somewhere around the Alte Feuerwache...

In HD I would prefer Thanner, Merlin, somewhere near the Hbf or even somewhere near the Karlstor Bahnhof. That's because I find the train less soul destroying than the tram even though the no. 5 tram goes past my bloc

OEG is nr Alte Feuerwache but on the quadrat side of the river. this year its called city beach
OEG Bahnhof Mannheim

but it has lots of nice deck chairs to chill on with a beer

As the quiz is not on, how about meeting tomorrow night in HD instead.

I have an appointment there at 1900 (hence my eagerness to meet in HD rather than MA ) but that should not take too long.

As always I vote for Merlin, Thanner or somewhere in the Station area.

We had Canada before... one of the questions was "which day is Canada day?"

It was the quiz in which I managed to make up an extra province so lost the point despite naming all provinces and territories!

I'm new here, but I would like to come along this week!

We'll be away for the next four weeks, but we are fully into it when we get back. We'll be studying the entire time so we'll be able to contribute.

More importantly, wine fest season is here, and there already have been some good ones (or so my hangover says). When we get back we'll be able to host. Deidesheimerfest is notoriously good. And the bike day along the Weinstrasse is truly awesome (but on a Sunday). Will post more on that when we're back.

Is this the place right close to the water tower? I haven't been there since '97, but it seems the little Irish Pub we hung out at a little was right near the water tower. I am looking forward to coming back!

its fairly close to wasserturm, its direct by HBF. I think stonehenge might be closer to wasserturm and is another irish pub.
