Yes, we were on form... about 4 points clear of the pack! Must be having our mascot back!
Lord of the Rings will probably be the week after next as there will be a stand in quiz master next week.
We could use a LotR expert - I am definitely not a fan.

okay, so did the previous teams just suck or is the TT group a highly intelligent group of bad-as*es?
Last week I totally forgot about the quiz. Was at the gym and thought, now there was something. Last night I had to pack for vacation. Now I'm intimidated - y'all always win. I'm sure we won't if I come, although my LOTR knowledge is pretty good.

so Elfenstar is our expert for two weeks time then!
i got bored half way through the first film and fell asleep, so i'm gonna be no help! all i know is New Zealand and the Hobit.

Good time. I don't know what the typical roster is, but, excluding myself, we fielded a pretty strong team last night. We led wire to wire, and didn't even need me to call foul on our neighbors for using their cell phones to access the internet. I did anyway, though, because it's not about winning or losing, it's about how you are able to reprimand people for not playing the game the way in which you would like it to be played. Insert any additional sports cliches here:
Kind of a small bottle of baileys for such a long train ride home, though.

Completely agree... don't get why people do it. If it is for personal gain there are far more profitable ways to spend an evening. If it is for the Baileys, go out and buy some! If it is to feel good that you are first - how can you congratulate yourself when you were not good enough to win properly. Cheating just spoils it. Furthermore, cheating in a half-arsed obvious way is just stupid!
Zero tolerance - burn them!!!

Hi there TT's
Missing Tuesday night pub quiz! Never knew a place could be as flat as Kansas. Local beer suck, but luckily lots of german and some czech imports. Will definitley be celebrating St Patrick this side of the big blue dam with a few (imported) cold ones. Keep on winning!

Well Hello there Bosveldboer!!
I'm glad to here things are going well on the otherside of the lake! You'd have been proud of us last night getting a Swarheli (Yes i know i spellt is wrong!) question right all by ourselves.
I believe we have the joys of Lord of the rings to look forward to next week.
Can i interest anyone in having a go at the Pub quiz at O'reillys in Mannheim on a monday evening?? As i think a few of us are getting a bit bored with the same place all the time.

@ Bos: I told you that Kansas is as flat as a pancake and 100% r-e-d-n-e-c-k! (I hope you can make the best of it, just put on a pair of cowboy boots and a ten gallon hat and do the two-step!)
What's going on Paddys Day??? I may make it to that!

Mar 13 2008, 3:54 am
Seems like your winning streak was quite short, better luck next time. I am proud of you guys for getting some Africa questions correct! Went to a rock concert here last week - George Thorogood (in Wichita you have to settle for the older bands). Had a hit way back when: B-B-B-Bad to the bone. Well they were quite good, but also lots of R-R-R-Rednecks (yes AshleyM, definitely redneck territory this).
JodieJo
Mar 13 2008, 8:56 am
Well if we want to do something actually on Paddys day, we could go to O'reillys and check out the pub quiz plus have a few guinesses.
If people aren't up for that we can arrange something else.
I set the ball rolling to any takers!!

Ok, I rang O'reillys in Mannheim. they say they are not running the quiz this week as they have live music for paddys day.
but the quiz starts normally at 8.30 you get given a sheet of 50 questions and you take your time to answer them - so no not being able to hear
Its as usual in both German and English. the guy i spoke to seamed very nice and he's looking forward to meeting more english speakers in Mannheim.
I think we should give it a go after easter.
If anyone is willing to do anything for Paddys day i might go along there and see what the pubs like on Monday! anyone wanna join me??
