Pub quiz at Murphy's Law in Mannheim

it appears Toytown had a group of cheaters at the quiz, i can't remember the teams name... though anyone remember ?

There were two groups. One group would have come third but the quizmaster said somebody saw them doing something on their handy so they were disqualified.

why? what happened?

as far as going next week, i think if another place has one on tuesday we should check it out. if not, i guess we'll have to go back to the evil quizmaster since tuesday seems to work for everyone.

oh and the specialist topic is "historically significant people"

Well, I have been yearning to branch out for a while. The quiz is OK at Murphy's, but I really don't like the food.

There is also Stonehenge, which I really hope is not supposed to be Irish, but I could not see anything there.

I know that JJ is busy those evenings and I have (irregular) monday meetings and also really need to get myself to proper German lessons soon!

i don't know if everyone can switch to mondays or wednesdays. that's the problem we had with finding a day for the regular meetups.

Come on now, she isnt that bad - I like her! Every quiz has wrong or badly phrased questions occasionally and smartarses (e.g., me) who like to prove themselves right by a technicality even when they are wrong!

Boy! I don´t show up for one evening and you guys get disqualified! Sounds like I missed quite a bit of drama. I can´t make the next two weeks, I won´t be in town.

Now although Murphy´s food isn´t all that great, and the quizmistress (*snicker*) seems to be in a somewhat foul mood more often than not, my vote is for Tuesdays @ Murphy´s... just the convenience factor more than anything else.

Hey, I know the McClarens quiz is more like a quiz league which is now coming to a end, so i doubt they'll let us join.

As its suppose to be the Mannheim drinks next week, we could just go somewhere else for dinner and drinks on the tues. to give the quiz a break for a week.

Next week i have no german so i can do any night apart from monday when they are sticking the big fat needle in my foot!

No Monday for me also as i will lying drunk in some side alley in Koln

Any other day of the week and place is fine.

I am basically out of here. Thanks again for making this place feel like home the past few months. I will check every now and then what you guys are up to. May even be back in May for a week or two (sounds like real possibility), although will be up in the Ruhr valley most of that time. But will make a plan to be here on some Tuesday night.
