just thought i'd remind everyone in the official thread about the pub quiz tomorrow. sandra & i are going to try to be there at 7 to get a table.

Yesterday I went to Murphys Law to ask about the bar job they have going. I got a inside tip about the quiz we should swot up on things with Sheep or Lamb in the title (i.e Silence of the Lambs) or people with the surname Lamb i.e Allan Lamb.

that was sly of you! and it's good to hear. not only do i know nothing about sheep (except steve hammel) but i have no desire to learn anything about them. i don't know why she agreed to the topic anyway coz she opened it up to everyone with an idea BUT at least she's putting a fun twist on it.

I am so annoyed I can't make it next week. I have a seminar for three days and will only get back late on Wednesday. But I wish you all the best of luck. Get the next bottle of Baileys in!!! :-)

Gwen Stefani's clothing lable is "L.A.M.B." I think it means "love angel music baby". of course I have a trip-hop CD from a band called "lamb". I think they're from Manchester.

As i'll be working and they might think we're cheating here is my knowledge of Lambs/sheep

Tamworth FC are called the Lambs

Allan lamb played cricket for England even though he's south african cause south africa where banned from playing during the aparthied and his parents where english. he now does quality standard advert with Ian Bothem for british lamb and beef.

So highlights of the pub quiz last night:

Team "feeling sheepish" came 3rd, winning a round of shots, which we traded in.

We had the best service ever!

OK, so this week the specialist round is about Harry Potter... anyone participating? I'll be there as usual I think

I bought HP unt der Stein der Weisen at the weekend. I only got as far as the second paragraph though. It's a ritual I go through in languages that i try to learn. Trouble is it is not such an easy read w.r.t. the breadth of nonstandard vocabulary, so it's back to Asterix and the tales of the parallel texts for me

Definitely count me in on Tuesday. I just got back from China, and I'm glad to see we now have #3. Since I've been out of the loop for the last couple of weeks, I was wondering if anyone got together to drink the other two yet.

some useless boyband trivia i remember as a wee girl:
- New Kids on the Block (Mark Wahlberg's brother was in that one. Donnie I think).
- New Edition (Whitney Houston's man, Bobby Brown was in that one)
- BelBivDavoe (or something like that - the leftovers from New Edition)
- Menudo (Ricky Martin in that one)
