Anyone (serious, hobby musicians, beginners) intersted in jamming with me, or even trying to set up a jam session somewhere? I think it would be fun!
I'm a singer, and used to have professional ambitions but now I just want to do it as a hobby...except I haven't done much singing at all lately and I miss it. I also play a bit of guitar. I sing mostly jazz, rock and pop styles but I'd be open to doing almost anything

can you do moany bg vox like on the pink floyd albums? i'm playing with a beat poet and some other musicians and we're looking for some vocals in that general direction. it's mostly improvisational noise/jazz (guitar, sax, and rotating others) mostly unstructured chaos as in a response to/dialog with the poetry. come check us out sunday night around 9 at the photoshop gallery in mitte if you're interested, we're playing for a vernissage. if you're into the idea then you're welcome to perform with us as well. or just pm if u want some further info or want to jam, any time!

I used to be a professional musician, classically trained. I've dabbled in jazz and klezmer though and would be up for some improv or chamber music.

I play piano but rely on sheet music a lot of the time. I'd be interested in playing too.

what i am looking for is some people to work through some jazz standards with. there's a cool open mic jam session at oxident in f'hain every tuesday night, i'd like to bring my guitar and jam there but would like to work up to it as the stage is usually quite good! i know all the scales and chords and theory, and practice improvving through the changes with my loop station, but would be very interested in finding a jam/practice partner to pick a bunch of tunes to learn and work through in a more informal setting. anyone interested let me know... i have plenty of practice space.

sounds like we've got a BAND!

where are you located Venus and sharp? I am in Wedding and have a large gallery space downstairs that is open to jam in. ideally i'm into stuff along the lines of bitches brew era miles, but pretty much anything is cool with me. other styles too no problem. Which tunes would you like to sing, Venus?

I do standards, like Ella style

I'm a female vocalist so it kind of works best with my voice.
I live in P-Berg so Wedding isn't far.

I used to live near Wedding (Perlebergerstr / Moabit), however now I live in Neukölln, so that's a bit of a trek, though I have a fairly light setup at the moment.
I like the sound of doing some Bitches brew action, also have you heard the headhunters album (sans Hancock), it's more funk, but along similar lines. I'm still farely amateur, but am defintely up for getting together and actually playing some music. also i have some nice electric keyboard sample libraries, so have a pretty tasty rhodes/clav up my digital sleeve.
Hmm, think i'll go and have a listen to some miles.
oh yeah i think I might come along this sunday, to have a look, could you let me know roughly where it is (photoshop, mitte? , nearest u-bhf?).
also - would love to work with a singer, doing some jazz standards, i could do with the practise and experience of playing with a real singer.

Hi everyone,
please keep me posted as well.
I decided against a career as a classical singer a long time ago but would love to do a bit of singing again.
Can only do weekends but maybe we can work something out?

Hi! I am a drummer from Calif. who recently moved to Berlin to tour with a band but it didn´t work out. I am mainly into most styles of rock but also studied a bit of Jazz as well as played in an orchestra. I am looking for any musician to get something going. Maybe, possible gigging around Berlin or even outside would be even better. I am pretty open minded and a easy going dude. I got my own gear here just no wheels to transport it all. Anyway, anyone interested let me know.
PS. I don´t mind the jam session thing to see if it works or not. But would prefer it to go somewhere not only in the rehearsal studio.
