Returning goods that were bought online

Can I just refuse the package when it arrives?

Hi,

I bought a cooking plate on plus.de internet site, but I have realized that I don't really want it. Do you have any experience with giving back goods bought online? I know I have 14 days give back warranty, but wanted to know if I can just not accept the package when it arrives (they still didn't deliver). If yes, it would save me a lot of time, since I wouldn't need to send it back myself :-)

Any experience with this?

Thanks,
krakp

The 14 days right of return only becomes valid once you have taken delivery of the goods, so officially you cant send the thing back until you have recieved it. Depending your postmnan, it might even end up at the neighbours for devery to you.

The easiest thing is to take delivery, open the package, add a written note that you do not want the plate and return it.

you'll have to accept the parcel and then contact Plus to cancel your order and arrange the return delivery and order cancellation.

Thanks for the answers.

I decided to contact Plus and ask them directly. The lady in the hotline told me the following: "the parcel has already been sent but as long as you don't accept it, it comes back to us and we give you the money back". So hopefully I just need not to be home when they are delivering (which is not difficult wink.gif - they always deliver when I'm not at home) or if they manage to get hold of me, not to accept the delivery.

I'll keep you updated on the progress.

It worked!

I was not at home when the package was delivered and then I ignored the orange paper from DHL saying to fetch the parcel at the post office. Now the money is back into my account :-)

I love online shopping :-D.

PLUS are pretty good like that.
But do think of the poor bastards who have to process the returns.
It is an AWFUL job that I hate doing so try and avoid it or just tell the customer to keep the goods if they are low value.
