I have a rough gist of what they're on about, but was after an accurate translation so I can write something nice back!

"es ist kein zufall wir sind gerboren worden, um uns zu treffen"

It's no coincidence that we were born to meet each other

noice - any suggestion as to something really german I could say back???

and spell geboren correctly, just for the sheer pedantry of it.

How about "destined to meet" instead of "born to meet"?

I had 1 week of German classes in 1989. Everything else I've learned, I've learned from conversation, television, radio, and just living. God help me with my mixture of Bavarian/Hessen/Odenwalder/Hoch Deutsch

As for what to reply, I'm thinking something along the lines of "It's no coincidence that I'm wearing running shoes" Sorry, not in a 'romantic' mood.
