Krispy Kreme substitutes in Essen

So, I checked the KK website and there isn't a single branch in continental Europe. Know of any good substitute here in Essen?

There's only Dunkin Doughnuts, which I don't think are as good as Krispy Kreme ..

The next few weeks is Fasching (carnival), when it is traditional to eat doughnuts. So at the moment you can walk into any baker's and take your pick from any of the fillings and toppings on offer.

For the rest of the year, you'll have to entirely forget about doughnuts and explore the hundreds of wonderful cakes, gateaux and pastries available in Germany. When in Rome...

In true "Büttenrede" style as it's Fasching, I'll have to say that whilst it may come as a surprise to some, I truly beleive that there's nothing better than a vanilla filling.

I know I do.

Doing some travel to the States soon, so plan to have my dreams filled!
