I propose going for a few beers in the Irish Castle Pub at Schlehengasse 31 at about 19:00, then onto Mount Lavinia at Jakobsplatz 22 for curry at 20:30.
I'm going with one or two people from work, sign up here if you want to come along.

Well there appears to be about 5 or 6 of us from non TT peronae. Lucky I don't have to rely on TT to serve my curry addiction.

I would not mind attending the next one MAM so please post when Nuremburg has another.
Cheers!

Can't say for sure as I'm arriving by train around 19:30. But me and mr. ajohnson may be able to meet you guys for curry. How can we find you?

Your best bet would be to take the UI direction Fuerth Klinikum, getting out at Weisser Turm. It runs ever 8 minutes. Jakobsplatz is a 1 minute walk from there. The curry house is right beside the fire station.
To get to the pub walk along Ludwigstr from Jakobsplatz away from town, South West direction, and turn right just when you get to the city walls. Then you will see it. I'm also PMing you my mobile number, but the Irish Castle Pub is in a cellar, so it probably won't work.
hey, I would love to meet some other english speaking people, and am living very close to Nuremberg, but right now I am broke. I would love to come the next time. Cheers.

Well the Nürnberg circle of curry addicts (all 4 of us) held a vote last night, and democratically and unanimously decided that from now on Tuesday shall be Nürnberg curry night.
Next week we're going to:
Sur Mandir
Katzwanger Str. 127

I have been completely slack in responding on TT since arranging the first TT meet-up in Nürnberg.
I would also like to join one evening too but at the moment, I cannot say if it will be before Christmas or not!

Hey, I'm in Nürnberg every few weeks with work so would be cool to meet up for a beer or two with a few locals next time I'm there
Didn't realise there were a few TT folks in the area...now i know i'll post next time i'm going to be in town!

Nov 10 2006, 4:54 pm
Hi ChickenMadras, with a user log-on so relevant...you have to be there!
Believe me it has only been in the last few months that finally some English speakers are coming out of the woodwork in Nürnberg!
I have lived here for 3.5years and only in the last 6 months have I started meeting people outside of my workplace that are English speakers.

This place is on Tram number 8, with a stop right outside Trafowerk in direction of Worzeldorfer str.

I'd be up for a night out. Tuesday I don't get off word until 830, but any other time is good.
Would anyone want to do a Mexican night at Enchilada? It's actually pretty decent as long as you ask for extra scharf.

I'm going to combine two of my addictions, and view
Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix at 17:30 at the
Roxy cinema in Nürnberg at 17:30. the movie ends at about 20:00 which will be perfect timing to toddle along to the Sur Mandir, one of the better curry houses in Nürnberg.
Of course people can come to just one or the other, or even go for beer first and turn up at the Sur Mandir at 20:30. If however you want to come along to the Harry Potter please advise me as it would be prudent to reserve tickets, this being the second day of showing.
So with precise military timing:
17:15 Buy tickets
17:30 Start watching adverts
20:00 Aproximate eof film
20:30 Arrive Sur Mandir
The Roxy cinema is as far as I know the only original language cinema in Nürnberg and is at Julius Loßmann-Str. 116. The Sur Mandir will cook a curry to strip the lining off an asbestos mouthed sadhir if requested (but can also cook comething very mild) and is to be found at Katzwanger Str. 127

I'm back in Nürnberg, and consider a life without curry to be, well a curryless life.
Thus I and at least one other person are going for a curry at the Mount Lavinia, Jakobsplatz 22 on Wednesday at 19:30. There's a strong chance of beers happening afterwards, which is rather strange as I've given up beer. Announce here if you'de also like to come along.
Note This will become a regular event but probably not on Wednesdays, more like on Tuesday or Thursday as Wednesday clashes with at least two other events. If people have opinions on what day works best, feel free to write them in here or tell me in person.

I shall be going for a curry in a relatively new restuarant:

Regensburgerstr 41
Its east of the Hauptbahnhof.
Please post here if you want to come along, so I know what size table to get.

After intense discussions with some of the luminaries of the Nürnberg Toytown (and she knows who she is) circle, I’m proud to announce the following exciting program.
We shall meet at the Lorenzkirche at 19:00, and toddle along to the Christkindlmarkt to find a likely looking purveyor of gluhwein. Then rush off to the Rathaus on Theresienstr to get bus number 36 at 20:14 to the Maharaja Indian restaurant at Regensburgerstr 41, for that most exalted of foodstuffs: de kurry.
The Maharaja is relatively new, and very keen. They know me well enough now for the waiter to run into the kitchen and shout that the difficult Irish bastard is there and it better be good. I’ve never had a bad curry there and no intention of starting.
Post here if you’d like to come along, and PM me for my mobile number if you’d like to only come to part of the festivities, or are worried you’ll get lost or kidnapped by aliens (if they’re the sexual experimentation variety can I be kidnapped too?)

And he said "Let there be curry", and there was curry.
One could easily think Franconia is the worst place to be in the whole of this country of Krautland. Look at the forum! "There's nothing happening here!" it seems to say to whoever is so naive as to click on this region, the F-word.
But now I shall reveal the truth to all of you brave Toytowners who venture into the dangerous Ghosttowngermany.com also known as Nuremberg: There are things happening here, great things...our activities are simply very clandestine. We are a multinational organization of curryists that meets at different locations all the time. We are everywhere. Sometimes, we are forced to consume excellent, yet affordable food or other exquisite substances in order to blend in with the unsuspecting crowd. But those are sacrifices we make willingly in our neverending struggle for w-...wait, I can't tell you that! If you want to find out more, you will have to make an effort and show up.
If you are sick of the TT-Franconia you used to know...join our ranks. JOIN C.O.T.!
Simply check the Forbidden Section of Franconia for updates. Post here, and our people will contact you.

Have you ever wondered if it's sensible to put a bottle opener on a lighter? or a torch on a lighter? Have you contemplated the finer points of automatic sympathy? Is being cool is just a function of lack of talent at being a loser? Is sainthood only worth half a cape - or is there more involved - something not mentioned in the fairy tales? Do you know what kinds of animals can ride a unicycle? or if fish have feelings? Should Sue87 change her TT member name to something more provocative?
Broaden your insight on these topics and more! while also getting an undocumented fourth S on your curry dish (sssscharf!) by joining C.O.T. Stop being an extra in future episodes of Franconian life and join today!
[big thanks goes out to all the extras that made COT so "real-life-like" last Thursday evening.]

Yeeeees...our plan is working...eexcellent...*cackles like an evil supervillain*
C.O.T means "Curry on Thursday" and so our intention is having one every Thursday.
Come one, come all and see how it's done, curry in Nuremberg and shitloads of fun. Yay!
Of course if you know any good curry places the Most Honourable Grandmaster MadAxe does not know about (ooh, heaven forbid), feel free to post suggestions!

I don't know about MadAxe's Schedule of Extreme Commuting, but I'm sure we can make the occasional exception or think of something else. Also, when are you done with your working out? We usually stay out rather late anyway.

Just to be anal about it CoT could also mean Curry on Tuesday, but no in this context it means Curry on Thursday. Not to be confused with WoT Wine on Tuesday which I used to attend but haven't made it for the last while, and Beer on Wednesday which I was never really into, but some of the BoWers are also quite keen to CoT
See what you're all missing??? We have our own arcane little language, secret handshakes, triple S codes to tell the waiter what we want.
As for me not knowing all the curry places. Hmmpphh. I was told at WoT (which was actually GoT) of a new one, but still I say Hmmpphh
See all the fun people on Thursday.

I'm done at 2000 and then I have to get a shower and change clothes. I live about a 45 minute commute from Nuremberg. So I wouldn't be able to get to Nuremberg until around probably 2200. How about an occasional COSA? A curry on Sunday afternoon? I could definitely be there for that!
Sue87
Dec 16 2007, 3:24 pm
COSA sounds like a nice thing!
Or maybe we can even have something other than curry now and then!

Like ultra-greasy Franconian food, just to show you how pointless it is to keep going to that gym. ^^

This shall be my last curry (in Nürnberg) before the New Year. For this weeks exciting program I propose getting into the Christmas spirit with a few feuerzangenbowle at the
"Grosste Feuerzangenbowle der Welt" on the Fleischbrucke. Of course nothing to stop those who are over keen from arriving earlier, and if they are not too heavy they can be carried.
Then its a nice 15 minute walk to the
Lakshay restaurant where I'm confident we shall be served a decent curry even if I haven't quite got the kitchen staff as scared as I like to get them. After that anything's possible but the Feuerzangenbowle place does stay open until 22:00.
MadAxeMurderer
Dec 18 2007, 5:20 pm
COSA doesn't work for me, as I'm rarely in Nürnberg at weekends.
However I've just announced a new FBfCoT for Thu 20th in a new thread. Bet there or be curryless
Sue87
Dec 18 2007, 5:25 pm
I'll be there with bells on.
But perhaps there is some need to explain the whole nerd bit?
MadAxeMurderer
Dec 18 2007, 5:27 pm
Nerds??? Who said anything about nerds. The Geeks are my little circle of mobile phone engineers who used to enjoy Beer on Wednesdays, but as the orgainiser of that has passed on (contract finished) they are now more open to my dastardly plan of Curry on Thursday.
Sue87
Dec 18 2007, 5:32 pm
See that little thing that says (edit) next to the thread title? Well, I do, so you ain't fooling anyone, MAM.
Okay, now we have this straight at least. There will be a bunch of geeks drinking almost-toxic German punch and trying to scare hapless Indian kitchen staff.
May Ganesha help us all.
*cough* Anyone else feel like coming along?
mudgum
Dec 19 2007, 12:10 pm

MadAxeMurderer
Dec 20 2007, 11:09 am
I shall be guzzling quality feurzangenboule from 7pm at the anti-vegeterian bridge. And 2 or 3 geeks have announced their intention to come, one bitterly protesting that we're not going to the
Mount LaviniaThe first CoT of 2008 shall definetly be in the Mount Lavinia.
