i am interested in finding a psychologist or psychiatrist in berlin, but not for the therapy aspect. i have an education based in psychology and would like to potentially start working within an office as an assistant to start getting back into the field; perhaps to see if i would like to further studies and get a graduate degree. does anyone know of any that speak english in berlin? my deutsch is not advanced enough to try to work solely in a deutsch office.

thanks for the help!!!

Hi,

A while back I remember there being a post from an American in Berlin offering psychotherapy. I have tried many searches, but cant seem to find it anymore. I think he mentioned specialization in cognitive therapy.

Any leads on his name/contact details would be appreciated.

I think you were looking for Carol Albers, who no longer appears to be in Berlin (which is a shame as I just included her in a guidebook I wrote that is in the process of being published). Her email for her adoption biz is carol@adopt-abroad.com. Maybe she knows someone. Alternatively there's Robin Miner, who I think is from California.

Let me know if you find one and how it goes (I may be in the market)!

I am a psychoanalyst who has recently opened a practice in Berlin. Unfortunately, however, I can only accept private-paying and private insurance patients since I have sold my Kassen practice in southern Germany.

There is an association, called PATH, of English-speaking psychotherapists in Berlin. I got the number from an earlier TT posting: 32 70 86 89. You may have to be persistent---the first time I called and left a message I did not get a callback. After a few weeks I tried again (you only ever get a recording) and this time my call was returned. I was also looking for a CBT person, and got a reference for Dr. Brian Pheasant. I haven't spoken with him yet, so don't have an opinion, but he has a website you can check out.
