Call me coldhearted, but how does it help the sad fucker who's just chopped himself in half by holding up the train for 1 hour ? Scrape him up, and get the train moving within 3 minutes should be the rule.

First its really selfish killing yourself in a way that inconveniences lots other.

And then delaying 1000 people for 1 hour !

Who know what stories each person has. Maybe somebody's relationship broke up because he promised to be home on time wand wasn't, and it was the last straw. Or turned up late for a date, and the person was already gone. Or missed a flight, thereby missing his meeting venture capitalists, or arriving too late to say goodbye to his dying Dad etc etc.

And even if your life was not wrecked by this 1 hour delay, its still annoying as fuck. And all because someone was sad enough to kill themselves, and selfish enough to inconvenience many while doing it.

Actually, a fellow I used to work with committed suicide by jumping in front of train here in Munich. Everytime I hear or read about people complaining about the delay, I think of him and think what heartless bastards people can be.

If you're gonna commit suicide then you are obviously a sad fcuker anyway and should do it in a quiet lonely personal way. Something like overdosing on sleeping pills in your own rooms, or maybe even in the hospital morgue to save people the trip.
Jumping in front of trains is inconsiderate and it's not like you'd even make the new for it here.

(Harsh I know, but my train has been held up so many times in England from this shit, that I know what tench is on about)

Ok, you're cold hearted.

Suicide, regardless of circumstances is inherently selfish. However, your theoretical diarrhea and suicide don't mix very well. It only results in a product of disdain, not humor.

people who commit suicide are selfish. simple as that. they obviously do not consider all the people they are affecting by their act. in that moment, all they care about is themselves.

sorry you missed your flight tench, but that you are also such a cold-hearted bastard? sad.gif big c's comments don't surprise me however.

okay lecture aside. i know you have feelings. i still like you. i just wanted to say something provocative too. i hope you got a later flight.
Big C
Glad to see I've got a rep. now!

TT is becoming too easy to wind people up on. Chillen Sie out!
Elfenstar
oh, i'm not wound up Big C, but i happened once to be on an ICE that ran over someone. sure i was inconvenienced but i know suicides are selfish and tried to amuse myself as much as possible while waiting in the train. sadly, most of the folk in my wagon complained about it too. i'm sure if i missed my flight i would be pissed off.
i suppose i should keep my comments to myself. mmmph.
Big C
Well I could have posted a simple, yes it annoys me as well. But that would be boring!

It is a selfish act, just think about the people standing then when someone jumps, its not nice for them, think of the poor driver of the train, these guys are usually in shock for days after

Days??? It can be years. Lots of train drivers quit after someone jumps in front of their train. It must be horrible for them.
Jimbo
I did once hear (tho it could be shite) that some drivers hope it does happen. They feign distress and have months of paid leave...

All right, I know your on the face of it talking about the local Anna Karininas but I don't think anything about suicide is simple...don't know what people are thinking at the time seeing as how I've never tried it myself. I do know there are many kinds of people who commit suicide, contemplate some examples:

1. the mentally ill - I'm not talking about your everyday dysthmics, I'm talking about people born with severe chemical imbalances. Not everyone has access to proper medication, healthcare, or frankly even a supportive network of family and friends.

2. the psychos - the child molester that KNOWS he won't ever stop, the war criminals - Hitler makes a fine example in these parts. SOME of these people, at least in my opinion, do everyone a favour when they remove themselves from the land of the living.

3. the victims of unimaginable horror- if you were subjected to absolute physical and emotional abuse, day after day, with no apparent way out - how long would you last? What if you knew nothing in this world but abject pain, suffering and humiliation? I think it would be easy for most westerners to say they would find a way out but there are many parts in this world where children are bought and sold as sex slaves, where women choose to set themselves on fire rather than live the miserable life they have. Even those that do get out have to live with a lifetime of terror. When I've read about these people, I usually wonder how the hell they lasted so long.

4. the "righteous" suicide bombers - who either have been brainwashed to believe that they are doing something just or are desperate to provide their family with a future via Hammas financial and educational support. I'm not touching this one with a ten metre pole other than to note its a significant suicide profile these days.

Anyway, my guess is that most of the jumpers fall into the mentally ill category. Would I be pissed if I missed my flight? Definitely as I've been on the Golden Gate bridge for hours while the cops tried to coax down a jumper. But I would also keep in mind that many people who commit suicide - well with the exception of the last group - really didn't set out to fcuk up my day.

Oh PS: I almost forgot, what if you're part lemer and were just doing your job ph34r.gif
