Got this as part of a letter from my german ladyfriend this morning:-

"My boss had several scream attacks (not really against me) even though I had such a labile day yesterday"

-does anyone have a clue as to what labile means??? Is it a german word or did she just make it up?

I think she meant "mentally instable". At least that's what I would use "labil" for in German.

Labile is the opposite to stabile (spellink?). So you can get a stable air mass (like Summer "Badewetter") or labile = unstable (like tendency to thunderstorms).
Same as in real life really...
