Hi All,

I am writing today because I need advice for finding a job in the Hessen area. I am an American citizen and will be moving to Hochheim, Mainz area in June 2008. I want a job in the Management/Marketing area, but I am looking into the English teaching jobs as well. I have my undergraduate degree in Management/Marketing and my MBA. I have great work experience in Events and I currently work for a highly established design firm in New York City as a Business Development Manager, the Americas. I work mostly in client relationships and proposal writing, presentation preparing, sales initiatives...

I speak semi-conversational German. I am in Level 5 classes at NYU right now. I am going to be fluent, if it kills me! But, in the meantime, I need a job that mostly speaks English.

Any advise for me?? I of course need to apply for my visa in the first three months and need a letter of employment to do that!!

thanks soooo much,

F.

You do know that Mainz is the capital of Rheinland-Pfalz don't you ? State Parliament and all that sort of thing ? And that Hessen is the neighbouring state ? It may seem trivial but these things make a difference here.

IMHO, the OP should work with headhunters and get written references plus proof of all training and education (perhaps create a portfolio even).

Lots of people live in Mainz and work in Frankfurt or other parts of Hessen.

Set up a profile on xing.com.

Sorry for the confusion...Yes, I know that Mainz is not in the Hessen area, but I would like to work in Weisbaden, Frankfurt area. I will more than likely live in Hochheim. Any help with work!
