Portishead are coming to the Tonhalle according to the NME.

The first tour since forever started or something. Haven't seen anything about tix yet.

Didn't they have a couple of hits?

Portishead are great for making out to or getting high, but their concerts are incredibly boring.

Best news in ages!
Tickets don't seem to be on sale just quite yet.

Great news, and even better news is they have a new album coming as well.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YES

Roseland NYC Live was perhaps the greatest live album of all time!

From the Portishead website the tickets will be available for Munich & Berlin on Saturday 2nd Feburary .
No word on ticket agents, but presumably it'll be the normal Eventim (CTS) and MuenchenTicket agents.

Any bets how long until they're sold out?
exquitius
dunno but you can aparantly buy them before the general public if you sign up to their mailing list.

more news too from the website, the album has a name!!!

We're pleased to announce that we'll be releasing our album, titled THIRD. on April 14th 2008.

The album has 11 tracks and is 49 minutes 13 seconds long.
EDIT: that means that the album is out after the show in Munich, meaning you'll hear the tracks first at the concert!!

They've always been the worst concerts for me...

Ticketbox have tickets available now for €37.40. I really like their music, but I don't know if I want to pay that much, as I'm not sure if it's the sort of thing that would really come over well live.

I saw them in Brixton Academy a long time ago... at least I think it was there... It's a good idea to have a smoke or drink before

Have my tickets!
Strangely though, only specially printed "hard" tickets are being issued. München Ticket couldnt printout the ticket for me on the spot as they do for normal concerts. (I was told to ring the bookings hotline!)

No prob though. The independent ticket desk underground at Marienplatz has a bunch of "Hard tickets" behind the counter so picked up 2 there.
Happy days!

thanks for the tip! Did how much do tickets cost? (37.40 as mentioned above?)
exquitius
yup. Exactly that, and 50c extra cos i paid with the EC card.

Not cheap, but when you compare it to other proper rip off merchants like Celeine Dion who is asking from between 71 and 179 EURO for a ticket, it's a veritable snip!

I saw Portishead in '97 in the Olympia in Dublin and it was indeed an awesome gig. I wasnt anywhere close to falling asleep as some others reckon might happen at a Portishead concert Beth Gibbons' voice is so ethralling, she is so immersed in what she's singing, it's (for a fan at least) an experience not to be missed.
