Where to enjoy a nice book

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a good cafe where a guy can go and do some studying or some light reading. I hate studying at home and prefer being out somewhere. Any favourites?

Cheers,

xargon

TexasTornado's new restaurant hopes to have a reading corner built in. She's also told me they maaaaay have a non-smoking section. Now if they were one and the same wouldn't that be nice...

if you're a smoker though, anyplace in town should be fine, all stinky. wink.gif

1. San Fran Coffee Company on Tal (nice table at back...this is where I did my German homework)
2. Alter Ofen (can be a bit noisy, but old furniture is cool)
3. News Bar/Cafe (on Schelling)
4. Brik (on a quiet night)
5. Atzinger (on Schelling)
6. Small cafe near where Jimbo used to live on Blütenstrasse and Turkenstrasse. Forget the name. Really good espresso.
7. Cafe Puck...can be a bit noisy..was there yesterday. Free wireless internet and they have english newspapers.
8. Cafe Florian - A bit upscale...but nice.

There are many...

then you're out of luck.

Wait a minute! Time to plug my personal project! Non-Smoking Restaurants in Munich! Many of them are vegetarian, what a coincidence. Do feel free to add to the list...

Zoozie'z at Baldeplatz is a good place for that as well.

The Arc is really relaxed too and quiet when there is not event on. besides you can always withdraw in the corner to be "undisturbed".

Cafe Florian is really cool. I also really like Cafe Roma for reading, the atmosphere seems to suit it. But it is also a bit upscale.

Found another place -- Götterspeise. Entirely non-smoking. Only little benches to sit on, but depending on your priorities...

Always found Schwabing Cafe really nice in the summer for sitting outside and reading a good book with a wonderful breakfast.

Sounds like you might be talking about the 'Vorstadt Cafe' - gets busy, but is very nice and IMHO boasts some of the most attractive waitresses in Munich. Not that I noticed of course - Sparty pointed it out to me. wink.gif
