Hi all,

My girlfriend and I are Canadians who just moved to Munich last week. We are thinking of going for Japanese food on Saturday (January 19), either to Tenno on Buttermelcherstrasse or Fuji San at Stiglmaierplatz. Would any other English-speakers be interested in joining us? We would welcome the company!

Cheers.

Any of them offer all you can eat? I love sushi but the prices over here are insane so I usually try to hit the all you can eat specials smile.gif

Fuji San at Stiglmaierpl is all you can eat.

A real deal is Tokio on Am Tal (Sparkasse building) 12.90 per hour all you can eat, only 10.90 if you start before 5 pm.

But the quality at Tokio is not always good and they have a very small choice. Another cheap all-you-can-eat is the Fujikaiten in Münchner Freiheit. They have a larger choice of dishes and the quality is a bit better, not yet like Shoya or any of the other better places but anyways better than Tokio. And it's 12.90 per hour for lunch until 5, later I don't remember how much it is.

Fujikaiten and Fujisan are part of the same chain, I believe there's also a Fuji restaurant near Rotkreuzplatz. The evening price is €18.90 at Stiglmaierplatz one, and I think it's €19.90 at Muenchener Freiheit but not sure. The good thing is that it includes the desserts and not just sushi, also noodles, deep fried stuff etc. Not drink though.

Tokyo is probably best avoided. See also BadDoggie's review:

That place is fucking horrible! Everything is loaded with salt, only a little cheap-ass salmon and questionable tuna actually appear, and half the shit they send out isn't even remotely Japanese, just salty and oily so you fill up and fuck off quickly. If there's one AYCE place to avoid, that's the one.

Edit: It's called "Tokyo Sushi-Bar". I wrote a rather harsh criticism about them over at Ciao! where they apparently decided to change my 1 star (couldn't vote 0) to 3. Looks like they changed a bit of my text as well.

woof.

So with the before 5, after 5 option... was there a time suggested for this?
epsilon_delta
Fujikaiten sounds good to me. As for a time, I think 6:30 PM is okay. If I know who is interested in this, I can make a reservation.

Also, does anyone know if Fujikaiten serves tempura and other non-Sushi Japanese food?
