We found a bar / cafe that does 30 different types of hot chocolate! It's called Trachtenvogl and is on Reichenbachstr (which is between Gaertnerplatz and Fraunhoferstr). It was too full when we went yesterday though, so I don't know what they're like!

Ooh their website says they do a chocolate fondue too!

Their Aztec hot chocolate looks tasty..

Cool! There are so many coffee bars and I don't drink coffee. Finally a place for me!

I can confirm that it is a nice place. I went there yesterday and sampled one of their flavours. Be warned that a hot chocolate is €3.40.

Ah well, so what. That's the price for tea or hot chocolate in lots of places.

They claim to have good ventilation -- I mailed them asking if they had a non-smoking zone (my hobbyhorse). Reply within 24 hours, that's good. Can anyone confirm the ventilation being "good"?

Well I was there at 3pm last Sunday. They have a ventalation system (as in a proper ducting system) and they also have lots of windows. They have 3 small tables outside too with brilliant ventilation, they also have a mini-kiddy table. We were the only people sitting inside and it seemed fresh enough. They have nice comfy couches and arm chairs in there.

today I reserved for 10 for the bookswap and it was packed, and not just because 17 people showed to trade books. Fantastic chocolate. They have no official kiddy table, but there are little kiddy chairs around, and we sat in some for a while as there was NO room. Must set up a fondue sometime.

Way the hell too smoky for me in there though, air's best by the door. Too common story in this town.

Went in late afternoon on Monday.
Cool laidback atmosphere with furniture and fittings from the 50's (confirmed by my Mum who was with me and recognised stuff from that era).

Hot chocolates are yummy and a fair size. Biggest trouble we had was deciding which one to have. Definitely going back to try some more, and perhaps the choclate fondue

Its not a tourist place either so lets keep it a secret for us locals

Yer, hardly any of their furniture matches, aparently all bought from floh markts.. gives the place a very laid back, retro, chilled out feel.. especially the couch level wink.gif
