Just thought I'd give this a little bump.
We've planned another great evening for you.

Two questions please:

Are tickets also available at the door?

And what time does it begin on Saturday?
crusoe
Sorry eof, tickets at the places listed on the website are now sold out, but you can contact the organiser at info@munichbloomsday.de and get yourself put on the waiting list (having said that, right now only the organiser himself knows how many other people are on the list, but he will be able to tell you whether it's worth you joining it). It starts at 8, doors open 6.30.

wasn't Senator David Norris the first out gay politician in Ireland? He became the Senator for the students at Trinity in 1987 on a gay rights platform a full six years before homosexuality was decriminalised in ireland.

Thanks for the response crusoe.

If David Norris could sell out venues as easily in Ireland as he seemingly can do in Munich, Ireland would be a tremendously better place I reckon!

Afaik, he was also partially personally responsible for the decriminalisation by successfully taking a case to the European Court of Human Rights. Of course the Fianna Fail-dominated Irish government ignored the ruling for years, but eventually complied with it after Labour made decriminalisation a condition of coalition government in 1992.

Thanks Crusoe for doing what I should have done - replied sooner.
The information regarding tickets is entrirely correct.
David Norris fills houses in Ireland and worldwide. He's an extremely
sought after speaker especially on Joycean matters.
He took the Irish Government before the European Court of
Human Rights and thus managed to have homosexuality decriminalised
in Ireland. Interestingly enough, his lawyer on that case was none other
than Ireland's current President, Mary McAleese, who dropped over to
Munich in February 2008 to visit us.
The evening promises to be good fun.
See you there.

Bloomsday 2008 in Munich was sold out and a massive success.
Didn't see any TTers there. Joyce too complex perhaps?
