News in from Bayern Munich: Jürgen Klinsmann will be their new coach next season.

QUOTE (Yahoo!)
Bayern Munich announced on Friday that former German national coach Juergen Klinsmann will take over as the club's new manager next season. "Former Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann will take over on July 1, 2008," said a statement on the club's website. Although current manager Ottmar Hitzfeld had already announced he was leaving the club at the end of the current season, the appointment of Klinsmann is a surprise with Bundesliga action yet to resume after the mid-season winter break.

Stop press item: Looks like Jürgen Klinsmann is going to be Bayern's new coach. I am appalled, considering the interview he gave 10 years ago about the management and their attitude towards self-confident and outspoken players such as himself. And don't forget: Klinsmann quit as Germany coach to spend time with his family. You have brought this upon yourself: Seh' ich Jürgen, muss ich würgen.

Klinsmann is an overrated loser. He did not do anything as a coach. managing a national team has nothing to do with managing a club.

So HOW did he get the job...

"And what managerial experience do you have?"

"Well the last team I was in charge of came third in the World Cup"

"Sorry Mr Klinsmann, but coming third is not good enough for Bayern"

All the talk at my local butcher this morning: "Ha!" says my Bayern fanatic metzger, "Hab'n Wir Klinsi. Du, Engländer, du hast eine ausländer als trainer". Then I reminded him that Klinsmann is in fact Swabisch. "Oh! Stimmt!?!" says he.

Just go back into the shop in one year and ask him if he is still happy with Klinsi.

This is gonna be very interesting, when taking into consideration, that Hoeneß will quit the manager-job in 2010 after 31 years, Beckenbauer still keen on becoming UEFA president and adidas still sees Bayern as one of their flagships. Herbert Hainer (current adidas CEO) is vice chairman at Bayern and Klinsmann used to be promoting adidas with his company "SoccerSolutions" in the states if I'm not totally mistaken... we might even see Jürgen take over some management duties in the end?

FC Bayern today announced that Martin Vasquez will be Klinsmann's assistant coach.

Edit: Does anyone know something about that guy? How was his coaching back in the US?
