Am looking to get back into playing tennis on a regular basis. Can anyone recommend anywhere where you can play or some clubs etc?
Also would anyone be up for a game sometime?

I would love to play with you LB, but I have a problem with my right knee right now.

However, I know some expat guys who get together to play regularly on Saturday afternoons at Deutsche Bank tennis courts, if you are interested to know more about that PM me.

I used to play in the Tennis centre opposite Markus Krankenhaus in Ginnheim. It was pretty pricey though.
The cheapest and closest place to you is probably the
TG Bornheim I could be persuaded for a game or two but not played for many years now.

The tennis centre opposite Markus Krankenhaus would be
TSP Europa. It's quite nice, but if someone's looking to reserve a court for early on a weekday evening, say around 6pm or 7pm, the regulars have got it pretty much entirely booked out for the rest of the winter.

Anyone interested in playing tennis in Frankfurt?
I don't belong to a Verein, but would like to try and play a few times a week : 3.0-3.5 player/ female. Or does anyone know a place to take lessons/flights on a regular basis--English instruction?
Thanks,
Sheila

I wouldn't mind playing the odd game now and then, brought rackets with me but hadn't found anywhere to play that you didn't have to be a member! Am not a really good player, just more of a part-timer but would be good, especially when the sun's out!

Me and another English mate from work were discussing this today...is it generally not common in Germany to just turn up at some courts in the park, pay a few Euro and have a couple of hours tennis? It seems to me that unless you join a Verein you're stuck. Which is fine, but i am crap at tennis and just want to have the odd game now and then. My fear is that if i go to a Verein i will be expected to go to training 3 times a week and take it far more seriously than i have any intention to!!

Yes you can or at least you could. As per my thread above I used to play in Ginnheim. The place is called Europa Tennis & Squash park telephone number: 0 69 - 53 20 40 The website is being renovated at the moment apparently...
You can book courts without being a member but do need proper shoes (they have some there to hire)

ah ok - i thought you meant an indoor tennis complex! If it is possible überhaupt to use courts that are open to the general public then i'll check in the Gelbe Seiten to see if there is anything more local. Cheers

Hi,
It would be great to play some tennis, singles or doubles. I can make this Sunday. I'm new to the city so haven't yet worked out where is best to play. Any advice on good clubs to join in or near central Frankfurt would be hugely welcome.
Thanks
Michael

Hi Praque & mikeB,
I called Ginnheim tennis club, they said that for booking court for 1 hr in day time (9am to 6pm) the cost is 25 euros and in evening time it is 22 euros. So let me know your availability so that i will book a court. In my case, I am only available in week ends (saturday & sunday) at any time.

I've played at the Ginnheim club a few times, it's a very good club with decent courts and a nice bar/restaurant too. also fairly easy to get to. I haven't been around much in Frankfurt the last few months but will be around permanently from feb onwards so am always up for a game, evenings or weekends. I know a couple of other peeps who play too so perhaps we could get something regular organised

ok my regular tennis partner is away for a few weeks so was wondering if anyone out there fancies a game this week or this wkend? Long term we are looking to get a little group of players together who are up for playing on a regular basis. In the summer we can play outside for pretty cheap, at the moment we have been playing at the Europa Tennis and Squash Center in Ginnheim, works out between 18-25 EUR per hour for each indoor court. The indoor courts are very high quality carpet and the club is very nice, have a decent Italian restaurant/bar there too

it seems people on this forum played a double some time this winter !
or dear... can I join in next time ? I was a pretty good player some day, trained by somebody who also train Kafelnikoff (i am not close to that level at all).
But now i forgot much of it, and can do a leisurely double or single every other week in the summer. i have my best racket with me here. Instruction would be nice too and i do not mind Vereins but they charge 1K per year, well I'd join the right club, no problem, but which one ? search was not so informative, it all looks pretty much about lists of tournaments, but i'd like to join an alive club where people can also talk to each other once in a while.
Any tips.

Hi!
I am getting back into the old tennis after a few years away from it! I have a joined a club in Enkheim and am wondering if anyone would be interested in playing on regular basis (maybe twice a week). The fee for me to take a non-member down is €10. The courts are clay so lots of sliding! Very nice club. Finding it a bit hard to find a regular playing partner from the club as most already have partners and are playing league matches. I would be playing at a medium range level building up to play league next year (it's a bit hard to describe your level without sounding arrogant!!) and looking for someone at the same or higher level. If anyone is interested in even a knock up to check it out just pop me an email (g_polley@hotmail.com)!!
Cheers,
Graham

Does anyone know of a good tennis trainer? I'd like to buy a few lessons as a gift...
