The Winterlaufserie München as well as the Frühjahrslauf (HM) and Sommernachtslauf (10k), all in Olympiapark, are organised by the same company (also the Neujahrslauf at Odeonsplatz on 1 Jan). I've never done a race with them, but from various sources (mainly from German runners forums) I've read some really bad comments concerning high prices and bad organisation, compared to races organised by (non-commercial) sport-clubs like MRRC, TSV Ismaning, etc. If you're running one of those races, please share your experiences here!

Btw, has anyone done the Silvesterlauf (by MRRC)? I was there, almost 2000 partcipants, quite cold, not too happy with my performance, but fun nevertheless.

Missing from the list seems to be the Dachau Stadtlauf which is a great event, and the Erding Stadtlauf which is also great ... I'll get the dates for both of those and post here ( both are 10km. )
See you all on Saturday ... I'll be in a Blackheath vest for the race and GB top for the warm up ...

Just seen Dachau ooops ... wub.gif
Also check out here .. http://www.lauftreff.de/laeufe/jan08-8.asp and of course www.mrrc.de
See you out there

Hi, anyone up for the 21km run in Gröbenzell next Sunday (March 16, 2008)? smile.gif

I was at the Olympia Park for the half Marathon today. The weather was great but the organizing of the event!!! It was a shocker. There was a mountain bike race going on parallel at the olympia park and there were several incidents where the runners had to pause or reduce speed to let the stupid bike riders pass. And in a few cases in front of my eyes the biker was to have an accident with a runner..

Lastly the best part after the race when everyone is waiting for a drink! It was a long queue and had to wait upto 20 min to get my drink... I am not recomend this race henceforth...

If it is something like 8 or 10 Euro it is fine. But paying 25 Euro for this race and getting poor service is not acceptable...

... just adds to what I've heard/read from other runners (see post #4)

I will run the Dachau 10K on 1 May. Would anyone like to share an S-bahn ticket?
nomis
I am running in the Regensburg half-marathon instead on 4th May. Anyone else running that one?

@nataras:
I generally find events in forests (Forstenrieder, Ismaning) or in country towns are better. There is more space and fewer busy streets to close. IMHO, Olympic park is too small, the paths too narrow and winding.

i'll be there but I'm cycling over as it's a nice warm up and allows me to drink till my hearts contetn and the VOlksfest on in Dachau that day ... (cheepset Mass in Bayern, I'll have you know ..)
So see you there

How long is the ride?
canuck
Best way to get to Dachau is to take an RE train from HBF. It takes 11mins and you can use your MVV tix for the ride. I always take my bike along so I can bike from the Dachau HBF to the Sportclub where the run starts from.

Great idea, thanks. I think I'll do that.

Hey Guys! Can anyone suggest a running or training club (of all levels) that focuses on preparation for the Munich marathon? I'm just starting to get back into my runs now that the weather is getting better - I am so out of shape!! I am looking for a crowd interested in training together that can share some tips, support, etc. I've never run a marathon before. smile.gif

Nevermind. Found a few other threads on the topic. smile.gif
