I am trying to find tinned pumpkin somewhere in town but not sure where..
I have looked at the alexanderplatz's galeria kaufhof but had no luck.
anyone have bought this before?

I had the same problem finding canned pumpkin, so I cut a fresh pumpkin up and baked it in the oven to get the same stuff. The pie's came out better than pies using the stuff from the can.

Sold to the dunkelrieter.
No need to bake it. Just skin it, seed it, puree it (or grate it) and freeze it. Ready to use as needed.

It is damn easy to use fresh (and frozen with my method) and some of the varieties have a much better flavor. The reason I freeze it is to break down some of the fibers to make it more tender. Most of my recipes call for an hour of baking so there is no need to prebake it. I even quit saving the flesh from Halloween pumpkins because those small multi colored ones are tastier. More often than not, they are sweeter and more flavorful.

Yeah I do it myself too, except I steam it and then drain it. It's really minimal work and tastes a million times better.
Sometimes around Thanksgiving they have canned pumpkin at KaDeWe and Karsadt but for what you pay for it it's really not worth it.

I steam my pumpkin as well. Doesn't take long at all and it's really simple, especially if you use one of those flavourful Hokkaido pumpkins with edible skin - no peeling! Just cut in half, remove stem, seeds and stringy stuff, cut into smallish chunks and steam until they are soft enough to puree in the blender.

i have actually found it, in the bio company.
it's in a glass jar, made by a french company and it costed 3,80€ for 500g.
so in case you can't be bothered roasting, peeling and blending the pumpkin, check them out..

Read the ingredients. They are probably pickled in vinegar. Not what you want for a pie.

also at the
american shop here in berlin, but the 425g tin is 4.20€ lol..
better off with the bio company stuff, at least it's not modified nestlé crap

Pretty sure they have Libby's tinned pumpkin in KaDeWe. In the American foods section near the meat counters at the far end of the food hall.

Yes, they do have it regularly at KaDeWe altho it's more predictable around the holidays. Watch out, though, Libby's is USUALLY PUMPKIN PIE MIX which is definitely not the same thing -- you can't make your own mom's pumpkin pie, altho on the other hand you don't need to buy all 5 spices that mom always required for her pie.

it will never be like my mum's pumpkin pie, that's right.. because she never made one ha ha

but i made a vegan one for my ex flatmate's birthday and everybody loved it (when i told them there was tofu inside they were shocked lol)
