Au pairs in or around Heidelberg

Hi!

I am posting this on behave on my au-pair who will be arriving tomorrow from Sweden. She knows no German at all and I am really keen that she will find some friends to go shopping with, have a coffee, doing some sight-seeing. I think she will enjoy her stay much more if she has some social life outside our family.

Dear AAsa,

there is a group of us english speakers in Heidelberg and Mannheim who meet up most weeks. we are not au pairs but she is more than welcome to come along and meet us. We are all in our 20's and 30's, and a nice mixture of people doing different jobs here.

How old is your Au pair? and does she speak english?

And yes, I am sure her English is fine.

We sort of alternate between Mannheim and Heidelberg and try to visit different places- meeting once ever two weeks - well, that was the idea!

We have been meeting once a week for a quiz in Mannheim recently too.

Im a newcomer to the Heidelberg area, Ive been here for soon 3 weeks.
I work as an aupair in Nusslochn and are 19 years old.

I went on a "pubnight" friday night with some great fun people and want to "explore" my new hometown more.
Thats why Im lookin for someone that are maybe interested in takin a coffe or just meetin up.
Or talking to someone that knows some people that speek english (because my german is totaly bad) and meets every now and then, prefererly in Heidelberg.

Hey Caroline. I would love to meet up for coffee or a drink sometime soon. I am moving to Heidelberg this week to start my job. I was in Heidelberg for an internship in the summer of 06, so I know the city a little bit. Let me know.

hey tere, i just joined this website, and been looking around at somethings that i can do here. Ive been in Germany, living in Hoffenheim, and busy with my 3rd month of a German intense course. I come from Namibia, South West Africa. i saw that you guys seem to have some fun every now and then. Im also trying to fins some kind of part time work, and find it dufficult to find something to do since i prety much only speek English at the moment. Please let me know how this site works, and what i can do. I was an Au Pair in america for a year almost 2 years ago, and love working with kids! Please let me know ! or refer me to something else!
