@don_riina
Bad timing as I can see that its not released until 26/10 in the U.S.
I`m over in California right now (fly back on Sunday) and if it was available I could of possibly picked up a U.S copy for you and arranged to meet up.
Sorry...

eMule.
I bought Vice City, but I had to download the US version and bloodpatch. I'll buy San Andreas, but I'll download the proper version.

For the PS2 or PC? PC version won't ship until early next year apparently.
I don't know whats cut from the game, or actually much detail atall in fact - a German mate had heard that the German version would be toned down a bit, and wanted me to get him a UK copy. There are adverts on the net here and there for the "uncut UK version".
The last GTA game had a censored version, which as far as I can ascertain only actually cut the part of the game where you can get a whore to jump into your car, and get extra health. Why on earth a car rocking has to be cut in a game where you are encouraged to joy ride and take out gangs of people with semi-automatic weaponry seems a little strange, but there you are. Perhaps they cut some of the porn studio missions aswell, dunno.
On a different note, I have heard that the soundtrack will include some classic Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre stuff - Gin n Juice, Let me Ride, and Nuthin but a G Thang are all apparently included. Very nice Indeed.

The whores-for-health are in both versions, complete with rocking car, though if you get the camera angle right, you see Tommy and the girl just sitting in the car even though the car's bouncing.
Some differences in the GTA Vice City versions (PC, not console):
* No blood. At all.
* Sword: no decapitation (which is SO cool), no spurting blood from neck stump
* Driving: no squishing people.
Basically, anything which makes the violence MORE cartoonish is gone. Kinda silly when you think about it.

I just ordered a copy from Amazon UK as well, along with some James Ellroy and Battle Royale manga...I'm ready for some serious death, destruction, and debauchery!
@BadDoggie...any hints on speeding up emule downloads?

Part depends on you, part depends on your provider.
Most providers "tune" the throughput and even if you have a 1.5Mb downstream DSL link, traffic on the ports used by P2P software is throttled, usually to between 50-100Mb. Check with your provider and check your contract. If there's nothing about that in anything you signed, they have to release those ports for you.
I expect that someone will soon come up with a way for eMule to ontinue connecting through the standard port but set up handshaking for machines to communicate on any random port.
More importantly, eMule is set up to stop leechers. The more you share and the more of your bandwidth you allow to be used for sharing, the more you'll e able to DL. Someone who has received from you will automatically give you higher priority to DL.
So if you've been quickly taking stuff out of the shared folder(s) as it completes, you're not building up any prefs and you sit at the back of the queue for a file with the lowest priority.
It's fair.

Game companies don't HAVE to have censored versions... but if they don't
want to have an 18's rating on the game, they need to do something about it.
So - what's an 18's rating got to do with it.. well.. Mammy and Daddy aren't
going to buy the game for their 14 year old kid.. neither will Santa Claus.
These things matter to the sales department.. even tho' - in the long
run, the kids will get their hands on the uncut version... but normally, this
would be passed around, and not purchased.

It could also mean that those songs are the cut Walmart version as well.
I guess we will soon find out.

No worries at all. I will be in the UK for its release so I will have the nice, uncut, German unfriendly version. He he he.
No doubt I will get stopped at Customs, arrested and thrown in jail for attempting to corrupt the squeeky-clean German youth of today with mindless violence and "rap" music

This
German link explains what is censored in San Andreas over here.
Basically, no blood, no "rewards" for killing civilians (whereas you get a few quid in the uncut version) and headshots are possible, but the animations have been cut. Does not sound like it will be a worse game because of the censorship at any rate.

Having had a whole weekend of constant gaming I can only say that this game is the absolute dogs. You do not notice the censorship at all if there is any.
Awesome game and well worth the 50 notes
