Hi TTers

I'm thinking of booking some time in this place while I'll be working in Darmstadt and trying to find my own place. Has anyone got any idea of its quality before I book, or can recommend anywhere else?

Otherwise...ermm...everyone alright? smile.gif

have never heard of it but seems good and at a good price - wish I'd seen this when I first arrived...would have saved me a few bucks whilst looking. sad.gif

When I first moved over here I was put up here:

this is a hotel but they also have apartments right in the centre of town.

Thanks Darmstadt...also appreciated for leading me to this site, great lot of people here! smile.gif

They've replied stating that I can book an apartment there for a month, and requested a current address so they can send a contract to sign.

Smells fishy or is it standard?
Purple Muffin
Ask them to email you the contract. I am sure it is perfectly normal though
Rilana
sounds perfectly normal to me too.

If you want, I can drive over there tomorrow and take a look for you. Just PM me your name (the one that you used to contact them in case you were being sneaking on the first go'round with them). I'll tell them I'm there to do an eyes-on check for you before you make any type of commitment or sign a contract. Just let me know what your living standards are in advance. I don't want to set you up with a closet and urinal if that's not your thing tongue.gif I'd head over there during my lunch break (roughly). I'd also need the address of the main office if it isn't on their website and which of the 4 buildings they have that they offered you an apartment in.

A tad bit off the subject:

Seeheim-Jugenheim is a nice little town just outside of Darmstadt.

I used to live there three years ago and it is nice and quiet and just a short drive to the city. We had a beautiful view of the hills and could see the top of Frankenstein Berg.

It may be worth checking out!

p.s. If I can find the number of my old landlord I'll pass it on to you. He has quite a few places in the area!

Cheers and good luck!

I saw the sign for Frankenstein Berg when we drove back to the flughauben, but never got the chance to look at it. I'll have a search, but if he's got something it would be grand, too, thank you!! smile.gif

Many thanks to Odenwalder, he reports the place is legit and spot-on.

Well, at least I've got a roof over my head for the first month tongue.gif
