Meet up for young people in Düsseldorf

Hey, I just moved to Düsseldorf as an aupair on Friday; I saw that their is a meet up on the 23rd, and I would be very interested in meeting some young people here in Düsseldorf (I’m 20 myself) but unfortunately I am not here that weekend.
Anyone fancy meeting up on Sun 15th?

I can do sunday. But I can prob only afford one trip (I cant believe how expensive the trains are!) between now and my trip (March 13). Would prefer to meet with a big group of people and have drinks! Maybe we could meet on sat and go shopping beforehand or something?? Anyone else?

Is there anybody out there who does want to meet up for a drink in Düsseldorf on the 23rd of Feb? Please step forward as I've recently moved here and am craving to meet someone outside of work. I have no idea where would be a good place though so any suggestions welcome.

I'm an English student doing a 5month long placement here and finding it hard to get to know people outside of work. Meeting up with other young people would be fantastic!!

Sorry, I am a no for the 23rd (nowhere to stay and just found out I have to work anyway). What about the weekend after?? If we met in the afternoon I could come for awhile and then get a train home that night, and you guys could keep going?

We are not gonna find a date to please everyone anyways. I still vote for 23rd since I have a conference starting the first weekend of March. I think there should be two meetups in this case...one on 23rd and one on 1st March.

@antony.s: I'll still come on the 23rd if the others who said were interested are still going too!

Youre right, two meetups is needed...Im in for the 23rd of March.
Now all we need is a place to meet!!!

wow this all looks rather complicated on here. Just a bit of advice, up to you if you want it, but in Berlin we just picked one evening and one afternoon and meet up every week. There always a lot of people who come along who don't post but come along anyhow (sometimes only about 4 people post and 30 people show up)

If every week is too much you could do it every 2 weeks. Pick maybe a Thursday evening, and a Saturday afternoon or something. We get someone to pick a new bar every time, who ever posts first gets to choose (don't be too picky about venue)

(also starting a new thread for a new meet up helps simplify things so you don't have to go back 4 pages to find where you left off last time)

I can´t on the 23rd either but I´m keen for the weekend after that or otherwise the 17th. Shopping, drinks, whatever :-)

As said before, i can’t do the 23rd but I think I could do the 1st, I will have to double check though. Where would you guys wanna meet on the 1st?
Also I agree, the idea of a weekly meet up at a certain place and time sounds like a good idea, that way people can just go, don't need to post but just turn up if they are free, knowing their will be people their. I think a Saturday afternoon would be good, what do you guys think? just have to think of a good place, a cafe or bar in the Altstad somewhere would probs be best.

I dont mind where we meet. But I don't know Düsseldorf well, so somewhere easy to find from the hopbahnhof would be good! If we make it early in the afternoon, that would be best for me, as I have to travel 2hrs on the train home! So say 2pm??

I agree with the organised meet up too. Maybe fortnightly would be better, cos we dont have heaps of people, and we dont want someone sitting there alone? Sat is best for me.

1st is great for me, and 2pm fine. and somewhere near hauptbahnof fine too, maybe out the bank entrance of it toward willi becker allee because there arent so many people there except for skateboarders...so we wont all miss each other! bi-weekly sounds good, maybe alternating between koln and Düsseldorf to please everyone?

Irish pub is fine with me. Unless anyone wants to go somewhere else? We can always go to a few places anyway! Do you know the name of it Rachel?? If you do, maybe do a separate post like Dr Kaykay did?
