Car garages and repair services in Frankfurt

Hi All,

Its my first day on TT, and i've spent more than 7 hours on this site, i would say its best best site i've ever found, the life was really very difficult in germany without German language But i can imagine how this site could be helpful for me in coming days.

My first problem:

last week my Opel Omega B 2.0 Einspritzpumpe (i guess its diesel pump) went out of order. Opel is asking for 3k Euros, Can anyone advice me what are alternatives, my deutsch is really bad, so please guide me in this regard.

I can take my car to any werkstatt in the area of Frankfurt/ Offenbach/ Dietzenbach/ Rodgau etc...

and what about Auto Schrott handler? can they be helpfull?

I dont know if you had this taken care of or not. But to make a long story short, the einspritzpumpe is a costly repair. You have the cost of the part itself which can easily cost anywhere from 500 to over 1,000 euros. Your best bet is taking the car to a freiewerkstatt where you can save sometimes up to a couple of hundred euros on repair work on your car. I dont know what we would charge on the work because I'm currently stateside packing things up to move, but if you send me a message I could get back to you with an estimate when I get back to Germany in about 2 weeks time.
