Could anyone recommend an English speaking general practitioner in Stuttgart?
Thank you

Hi Lisa, if you need urgent a general practitioner, then you should look in the Gelbenseiten for "Arzt" and then choose "Allgemeinmediziner und praktischer arzt" the german word for general practitioner. Then you have to make phone calls and ask if the doc speaks english. (

I hope this Link will help you. My mother was gp in Stuttgart and speaks english but she retired 2 years ago.
If noone has a good GP or another idea, I can call my mother and ask her if she knows someone.
Cheers Nico

Dr Strohkendl is a good dentist, and speaks good English. I had a lot of work done and they are very good.
I also have a list of English speaking Doctors and Dentists recommended by parents at the International school. Generally the standard is pretty high and there are also personal comments from people recommending them. You can download the PDF version
here, by clicking on 'section 1'.

Hi everybody,
I have been using the search function but no luck, so I guess I'll post my question here:
I have lived here for a few weeks and never been to the Hausartz. I have health insurance with AOK.
Now I have a flu and I was wondering:
could you suggest a good doctor that makes home visit? How much would you reckon it'd cost?
Or, if you don't have specific suggestions, how do I look for a doctor? Should I contact the AOK directly?
The home visit detail is kind of important because I have a fever now.
I live close to the Hauptbahnhof, and I'd like the doctor to understand English, although it's not so important.
Thanks in advance!

Recently visited a Dentist by the name of Markus Bauer at Eugensplatz near the city. He speaks good english and is sympathetic first time I went it was a tooth emergency, and he actually made time for a short counselling and temporary remedy, when all the other dentists rejected me as I had no appointment.
