In spite of the fact that all of Wes Anderson's movies have been (while beautiful to look at) going downhill since Rushmore, Rushmore still has a place in my heart to a point where I feel obligated to see The Darjeeling Limited, and while my expectations won't be high, I really hope to be pleasantly surprised.
As most of my friends here still haven't returned from their holidays and I'm a little bored, I thought it might be nice to meet up with some other folk(s) who appreciate these sorts of movies, maybe get some tea or coffee first and then head over to see it.
It's playing (in English) at Cinema Muenchen Thursday night at 10:10
Anyone interested?

Rushmore being his worst film...I have high hopes for the new one.
Then again, I'm pretty certain my gf will hate it, so I can't go

I don't disagree that each of his subsequent films have gotten more visually intricate and display more impressive film making (the spoils of bigger budgets), I just feel like Rushmore is the only movie that has both characters and a plot possible to develop emotional attachment too. From Tenenbaums onward everyone is like a one-dimensional characterture of a person as conceived by a child. After Owen Wilson stopped co-writing the movies they just lost a lot of soul, and it felt like with the life aquatic he was more interested in making a movie that was quirky, looked beautiful and had a soundtrack involving the kinks, then making a good movie.
