As we have just booked the hotel for Christmas I am now wondering what the village Ramsau in Austria is like.
Has anybody been there? Is there Aprés Ski? I know the big Skiing Area Amade is not that far away and we can go there for Skiing. Which is the best part of Amade? Anyone else planning to go skiing there round Christmas time?

Was in Ramsau about a year ago in Summer. Its an awesomely beautiful village with the most amyzing mountains and hiking opportunities. The people are also very friendly and the prices good. Enjoy your trip

biggrin.gif Hi, I have been going skiing in that area for about 14 years now, it is superb.

If you put the word "Planai" into a search it will bring up the ski resort which is Schladming.
Not very many Brits etc go there, just lots of Germans and Austrians. If you want, I can send you an e-mail of the best places on the mountains that dont get too crowded and are prettier than the main runs! There are two sledge-runs for night sledging...one is very pretty and only fast in parts, one is,er...suicidal but great after a drink or two!!!(take Ibuprofen for the day after the sledge run!!!)
