What does wasserschaden mean? Water problem?
Pas
Water damage, I think.

What time do you think is a good time to make an emergency water phone call? I think we may have a frozen pipe but it hasn't burst yet, just noisy and no water upstairs?
Odenwalder
If it's an emergency, make the call when you feel you need to. Bear in mind that even if you make the call at 5am, you won't get anyone there to actually work on it until after people get to work. I know a few plumbers here in Germany and they all laughed at me when I told them that plumbers in the states can (and advertise it) be called at 2am for an emergency. There just isn't that 'sense of urgency' here.

Good luck with your water pipes.

I have a frozen pipe and I can hear the water rushing, no leak yet as I can tell. Lanlord is out of town. No number for them. She left one on the wall downstairs and it doesn't work. It's 171 6454834. Should I add a number to it? It doesn't look right? I don't know what to do? I've been up all night. Anyone know a phone number? I'm in Stuttgart area, code 72766, by Reutlingen, Metzingen, Neckartenzlingen, Aichtal, etc...

Looks like a German cell number to me. Put a 0 in front of it (0171-645-4834)

Be ready to turn the water off if it does leak (usually when it thaws) wink.gif

Tinks this is an emergency so you can call anyone you wish.Get them to bill your landlord with the repairs. Its legal as its an emergency

Our pipes froze that leads to the upstairs bathroom. The bathroom is also next to an unheated storage unit (that we are forbidden to use) and another empty apartment upstairs. It's like an attic up there.

There has been no leaking or breakage yet. It's still froze. We can't get ahold of the landlady, her daughter, or the guy to fix it. Our housing office is closed too. There's a loud roaring noise coming from our wall and no water upstairs in the bathroom. We have been up all night trying to figure out this problem and what to do. We are at our wits end now.

So, if this elevates into broken pipes it could be a MAJOR problem. I don't see how we can liable for this when she didn't insulate the damn things to start with.

Just call ANY plumber and have them bill it to her.

I can't find a phone number, it's been hours now. Can someone find me a phone number. I'm at 72766 near Stuttgart, South, more towards Tuebingen or Reutlingen.
I don't know how to turn off the water, there are 5 apartments in this house. My husband tried but the knob started to leak.

Google for "Klempner / Installateur Stuttgart" ...

I used the fu%$#% yellow pages. I called a zillion numbers. I don't speak German and had 2 German people calling and they couldn't find anyone to help. Holidays and stuff.

Maybe just turn the water off all together? I have noticed that in most places here there are shut offs in most important parts of the house/apartment. Kitchen, bathroom, toilet/laundry area. If you can isolate it then you can maybe buy yourself some time until you can get someone in to look at it?

Update, we finally got someone to come out for 165 euro. They shut off the water in 5 mins. Didn't deal with the pipe or check for water. Turns out the pipes had burst during the early morning, they weren't frozen, they were broke. The landlord has to pump out their house. It's a disaster. I feel like a fool although we tried everything. I was at the bakery at 7 a.m. asking people for help. Landlady still wonders why I didn't call her or her numbers which I did and I left messages with her daughter! I didn't have the landladies phone number until 3 p.m. Her cleaning lady was down their wondering what the sound was and why water was coming up a bit under the floor and she didn't do anything. We feel like we are getting blamed for this whole thing and we are the only ones that did anything. I haven't talked to the landlady but saw her briefly today, she said hi and looked just sad. I don't know what she knows now. I hate this miscommunication or let's say non-communication.
