Full Version: German word for "headboard" for a bed

Anyone know what a "headboard" for a bed might be called in German.
(If the term "headboard is confusing, pls see this link)

Best I've been able to find so far is "Kopfteil" but that doesn't appear to be correct.

I would have said 'Kopfbrett', and my in-laws knew what I meant, even without knowing the English term, but they all agreed 'Kopfteil' was the word they would have used themselves, but with both you really need context to make it clear.

Kopfteil and Fußteil are fine if the context "bed" is clear.
