Thai dinner at Ruen Thong (Khanittha Neuhausen)

Now Xmas is over, it is surely time to start worrying about how to fill our social calenders in January. Worry no more; Lurker Mark and I have already discussed a way to help you.

It's called signing up for a Thai meal at Ruen Thong (the place which used to be called Khanittha in Neuhausen, where I have arranged dinners before).

yeah, I'm pretty impressed about that too. I'm just not sure how he would cancel if he needed to - so I'll just assume he's a definite

count me in - always liked the food there and good way to get into the New Year (or recover from the old one!) Just a question... what about trying the one in Haidhausen? Is it better/worse? Anyone have any comments?

I have been to the one in Haidhausen many times and the food is the same standard (and certainly used to be the same menu).

The only problems I see with it are that it is not directly on S/U-Bahn (although not too far away), and the bigger issue is that it is pretty small (and also a square shape, making one long table difficult to squeeze in) and I am not at all sure that they would fit in a group of 20 to 25, which is what we tend to get for the Thai meals. However, if a lot of interest is shown in going to that one (it's at Haidenauplatz, right at the top of Kirchenstrasse), I could give them a call and see what size they would be willing to fit in

I'm up for this too! Think I'd marginally prefer Haidhausen as well, as I suspect it might be easier for me to get to (likely to be coming from the same place as you, ruapehu, so correct me if I'm wrong?!) but will be there whichever one you go for. Had such a nice meal last time!

Indeed, this is an aspect which I had entirely overlooked. It actually took me a while to work out what on earth you were talking about (only a couple of days off work and I've managed to go into denial).

I shall check with them over the next few days and report back; I do suspect that the Haidhausen location will be a no-go though.

Well I'm sat in another country writing this, anything could happen between then and now! (I nearly managed to lose my passport coming over here so anything is possible!)

Well, I definitely want to go to this, however I don't know if it would be possible to fly back into town on Thursday that week. I'll have to check the status on the week before and will report back. Will you accept a maybe from me ?

We are doing very well so far...and there are still some expected repeat offenders to return to TT from their Xmas break.

We will be there in spirit as we have our Thai dinner in Bangkok on that evening.

The Haidhausen one will definitely not handle hese numbers, so it's confirmed as the place with the link in the first post.
