Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good gym in (or nearby) Neuhausen?

Thanks! biggrin.gif

there is one near Pacha, on Rosenheimer Str. that's supposed to be good. And there are plenty of busses from Ostbahnhof from there to there

I know of two in Neuhausen (pablo, yours are in Haidhausen!)
you have the FitPlus at Donnersbergerbrücke, which is very nice with cardio, classes etc but a bit expensive
you also have the Kieser training place in Lothstr, which I think just has the machines, no aerobics or anything. but it's a lot cheaper than fit plus.
If you're into racket sports as well, you might think about the RSC up at Hirschgarten, which nearly classes as Neuhausen, I suppose. They have classes (aerobics, spinning) and stuff there, and tons of squash/badminton courts.
Be aware that once you sign up you're stuck with membership for a year. So see if you can get some free sessions so you can try out the place before you commit yourself.

I go to Kieser on Lothstr.

There's no cardio stuff and no luxuries (whirlpool, juice bar etc) but they

a) push the prices up
cool.gif the latter keeps you from real training.

There is no attitude, it's very reasonable (equivilent to 3 helles a week).

I thoroughly recommend it. I'm a happy member there and quite a few aquinatances go (but no, it isn't a big perv up zone)

I had a look at Elixia which is just over the otherside of Donnersbergerbrücke from Rotkreuzplatz.. Year only subscriptions though by all accounts..

I live between Gern and Olympia park. My gym is not in the area but it's really great so I travel the distance to go. It's Nautilus Fitness. It's 26.99/month. There's one in Frankfurter Ring and one somewhere else. Your first 3 visits a personal trainer who sets up a plan and shows you how to use the machines. Then you meet again every 15 visits (or more often if you want). They have cardio machines and areobic classes. They also are almost finished with a large sauna area. You can go for a free trail meetng with a trainer before decideing.

I belong to that Elixia since its near work. Pisses me off royally that they are only open two weekday mornings. Like the locker, spa, sauna, sun rooms, etc., but don't think I'll be renewing.

Where is the FitPlus by Donnersbergerbrüke?

I need something either very near work or very near home. Has anyone tried Leo's on Leopold? sehr schicki micki?
Topsy
Sorry - I called the club near Donnersbergerbrücke FitPlus, that's what it used to be called. Of course it rebranded itself as Elixia a couple of years ago. I'm just an old fuddy-duddy who can't keep up with the times. blink.gif

@ butterbean

you might wanna try www.munichgym.de it's close to Nordbad.

they have an Oktoberfest special until the end of October €59/month instead of 72.

It's new, nice, clean and you can go for a free training before you decide.

I still find it a little expensive, I find gyms extremely boring and I only go when I can't do anything else because of the weather.

I think madaxemurderer is a member

@Johnny Who: I might take a look at that place. Right now I'm going to Stefans Training Center (above Pascha). I highly recommend the place. It's really good, but its also really far from where I live. It's a pain to get to on the weekend...

Thanks for all of your suggestions!

Just wondering ... how much does "Elixa" cost (per month) with a one year contract?

Thanks! biggrin.gif

Oops ... I mean Elixia! wink.gif

It depends on whether you want access to all the gyms, or a certain handful of gyms. I pay something like 60€ a month for the lesser handful, but that's with a corporate discount. Might be about 70€ or so without the discount.

Just went to Elixia ... it would cost 59 per month on a two year contract. The good thing is that if you move away (more than 30 kilometers) the contract is immediately cancelled with no more to pay. I like that. I just on't understand the prices here! In Australia it's a quarter (well ... maybe half) the price!

Anyone know anything about "Balance" near the U1 Maillingerstraße station? I just checked their website and they´re offering 3 months free with lots of goodies. Just for ladies, though ... might try it out. Here`s the link if anyone is interested:

And how about "femme fitness" on Leonrodplatz? Anyone been there? It seems to be ecently priced:

Oh the choices! ;-)
