An act of kindness from a TT'er

A huge boost for a homesick Aussie kid

A couple of months ago I posted a thread about the difficulties we were having trying to get my six year old into a suitable swimming program locally having up to now, received all his swimming lessons in Australia, based on the AUSTSWIM programme.

Out of the blue, I was contacted by a TT:er who happened to be passing through Munich and used to be an AUSTSWIM coach herself. She offered my son a session in the pool with her - refused my offer of payment, no strings attached, nothing but an act of kindness and generosity.

Yesterday she spent a good hour with him in the pool, helping him with his stroke and giving us some pointers on what we can work on together to keep him on track. More than that, she gave his ego such a fabulous boost and one which he badly needed - he has found the move here really difficult and to be embraced, encouraged and praised by a complete stranger from home has given him such a kick.

To the TT:er who made a homesick 6 year old Aussie so happy, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Your random act of kindness has made a huge difference!

Does the TTer in question now live further north but used to live in Munich? If so, I think I know her (as do my children). Lovely young lady, I agree, and great with kids. smile.gif

Nope - not the same one. "Our" one was just travelling through Munich. Has, as I understand it, never lived anywhere near Munich!
So there are more fairy godmothers out there ...

Yep mo3 you are right. One can find quite a few nice people here occassionally.

What an inspiring little anecdote! Thanks for helping to restore my somewhat tattered faith in humanity.

Thanks for sharing that, I'll go with silty on that one. Makes you see that humankind is not just a stinking piece of shit on the fishy cod-piece of existence wink.gif
