It seems like my wisdom tooth decides to "partially surface" now sad.gif

So, if you have a good experience with a particular English speaking ('coz my Deutsch is so shit, I don't want to be operated in 70% language-comprehension smile.gif ) dentist, I'd appreciate you sharing here.

And English speaking doctors would be useful.

THANKS!

And what kind of dentist should I look for, for wisdom tooth extraction? Kieferorthopadie, Mund/Kiefer/Gesichtchirugie? Sorry for my ignorance. I don't even know what kind of dentist I should look for in English. Would be grateful for your help!

a general dentist has to refer you to an Oral Surgeon (Keiferchiruge)... so, you need a general dentist first. Then they would take an xray to see the wisdom teeth and either refer you to a specialist or they can do it them selves.

Hey Carm, thanks a lot!! It's really appreciated!

I found a few websites which help to search for, let's call 'em "medical professionals", by giving your PLZ and Ort

- Portal fuer Medizin und Gesundheit and their English site talks about German Health System and other medical related topics in Germany

- Artz Auskunft

I went to Dr. Annemueller dental clinic today since it's close to my house. The dentist spoke English and people are quite friendly but not so sure what to think of when most of the staff are praktikanten or trainee!!

I just got mine removed by a Kieferchirug in Hausen. I was referred to him by my lovely denist in Bornheim. I will post the details tomorrow as they are in the office. The extraction was pain free and I didn't notice a thing. Obviously it started to hurt when the injection had worn off though sad.gif

My advice on wisdom teeth is get them all out at once. I have had two induvidually and it was so painful afterwards with the wound healing I would have rathered only go through being out of action once and having a little bit more pain as it can take about six weeks before you feel completely back to normal and the wound to heal.

Yes getting them all out at once might make it difficult to eat for a while but if I had the choice that is what I would have done.

Sorry I just read you were asking for recommendations in Wiesbaden and not Frankfurt so mine are not much help. Good luck anyway all my symptahy with the pain.

Hi Purple Muffin,

I just came across this thread and would really appreciate the Bornheim dentist recommendation you were about to give. I don't need wisdom teeth out or anything, just need a good dentist.
Thanks and I really appreciate any help.
