Friday Night Drinking Club (FNDC)

As a Borhheim yokel, I can tell you that the Schoneberger is fairly busy every night of the week and is a pretty decent pub for pinting. If FNDC is going there, a reservation is probably a good idea.

Schöneberger is packed every night of the week and a great atmosphere for weekend drinks.

Agree though a table reservation would definitely be necessary. They hold tables until 8pm. I am not sure how easy it would be to squeeze a largish group in at this late stage though...

ok, well, so not to be a dictator, I will go with the peoples choice this time ! I will try and phone them today and book a table.

Failing that, Plan B will be Waxys i think. agreed ?

I m in too. @ Nick: for beers not really: €3 or something for an Alt-Munster. Food is better than the average german bar and consequently is reflected in the price ~€8 for a giant burger.

I agree Waxy's is pretty cool but a bit on the expensive side. I still cannot understand how a wine spritzer cost 5,20€ whilst a normal glass of wine only 4,50€. Maybe being both blonde and Welsh it is something just beyond my comprehension. Also over 7€ for an Irish coffee is a bit steep. But then the cool places are always pricey.

Irish bars are pricy, but good atmosphere and you know what you are drinking !

All tap water drinks are on me !

Yea and unless it is Guinness then it is complete shite compared to German beer

Waxy's was well expensive...€ 4,20 for a beer!

The only way German Pils is drinkable is in a Snakebite and Black.

Permission for everyone to attack you for that one! How on earth can you think that? Obviously not been drinking long enough to appreciate the how beer should actually taste. Or drinking the pils at Waxy's/O Reilly's and the like. The Munich folks might shoot you down for that one.

I prefer Guinness. It's not as if I go back to the UK and start drinking Fosters and Carlsberg and all that crap!

And also, it depends what beer you are talking about. I for one prefer the taste of proper ale or stout. For me, that is how real beer should taste like.

Yes me too But that doesn't mean German beer is horrible by any stretch.

@CM thought is was actually 4,80€ for a pint in Waxy's or is that just the Guinness.

Guinness tends to be more expensive, so I would guess that 4,20€ is for lager and 4,80€ is for Guinness.

What happened to this idea? Buena Vista gets my vote for a Friday. Or Harveys. Seems daft going to the same place all the time

hey PM, as last friday was such a blast and the staff were so good to us I thought we would give it another shot ! If it ain't broke don't fix it !
