I plan to drop by tonight for my first ever FNDC, hopefully there will be some familair faces from the last TT event I was at way back at the start of the year...

Its thursday and its very quiet. Why is it so very quiet?

I woke up after too many long islands and the lenses are missing from my glasses. Anyone know what happened to them?

sorry to hear about your glasses jason! the last time i saw you was when we took the taxi from alte oper and you started running home.. (which was priceless by the way haha). so you must have broken them on your way home.

Oh Jason! That is terrible news! I just had an object lesson in how hard it can be to get any manner of medical assistance (in english) in a hurry. I broke a molar eating lunch today, and I would have been hopelessly screwed, but for the help of the German guys I work with.

I hope you find new lenses soon!

I'm in Romania this week so won't make it. Next time I think I'll avoid the long islands.

Jason - I hope he got a new pair of glasses so he kind find his way back to the bar this week!!!

Also, I have been getting some emails about explaining what FNDC is like, well generally we are an international crowd aged between 20-30, some long term regulars (you know who you are!) and new people to the city.

Generally go for some drinks in a bar or two then hit a nightclub, good way to meet new people / make friends / network - all in english of course!

Over the last eight months the average has been usually about 20 boys and girls up for a night out on the town!

A good event too meet new people, network and make friends, ask the regulars when you show up!

Just want to say thanks, the meeting was nice. Couldn't be there last Friday and this Friday as I am not in Wiesbaden/Frankfurt. Hope to catch up soon

Action is away this week so I'm stepping in again to organise things for you Friday night drink lovers...

For this week we have a two bar tour planned (a mini pub crawl)

Both bars are at Konstablerwache:

First stop - 8pm onwards - 'Gaststatte Nachtleben' Kurt-Schumacher-Str. 45 (Hard to miss, its practically the only bar directly on Konstablerwache square)

Second stop - 10.30pm 'Bar Jazil' An der Staufenmauer 7 (A slightly trickier one to find, go through the archway near the Dresdner bank and you will see it on your left)

This second bar then leaves us across the river and in the proximity of my (perhaps controversial) personal favourite late night stop - 'Stereo Bar'. We'll see what happens...

If your new to the city and wanting to meet some new faces... then this meetup is usually great. There's typically a good mix of newbies to the city in the same boat as you and also some stalwarts of the city who are happy to welcome some new faces.

Also... I noticed that amongst the many festivals the city has, there is a 'Newcomers festival' this Sunday at Romer platz. I've never been myself but maybe you'll want to check it out (actually... just looked it up on the internet, seems quite commercial rather than a drinking and eating festival but nonetheless I've not yet been to a Frankfurt festival that has dissapointed)

I've been in Frankfurt for a month now, and only made it to one Friday night, so will try to get along this week to meet more people.

Last week - Nice turnout. Both bars gave us discounted prices (hopefully you noticed) because of our numbers.

My plan for this week:

I think we should get to the winefest which is happening at Fressgasse for the past week and ending this Sunday. It's possibly the last Frankfurt fest this year and the last chance for outdoor drinking, as opportunities are quickly dissapearing with the arrival of winter :-o

8pm - If we meet at Bar 54 this puts us in the middle of the fest, a good meeting point and the possibility to retreat indoors when the weather turns nasty.

Address - Fressgasse 54. The Fressgasse street is approximately the stretch of street between Hauptwache and Alte Oper.

Will probably be quite hectic there, so I recommend making sure you have a number of someone who'll be there so you can easily find the group (Send me a PM if you need my number for directions)

I was under the impression you were an all weather drinker Outi...

Nonetheless, worry yourself not when the rain comes, the bar has lots of umbrella/awnings and then there's always indoors too. It wasn't possible to reserve a table because of the Winefest happening.

If it gets completely hectic and impractical then there is a large bar (I forget the name) round the corner on Kleinhochstrasse (6 or 8) which we can go to.

note - I had a quick visit last night to the winefest and a few glasses of wine... it was excellent, I highly recommend it for any of you that haven't already been to this festival before

Newcomers are always more than welcome!
Beyond is in Hauptwache, behind the posh shopping street (Prada, Cucci etc.). There is no dress code and just look for a group that speaks English.. The bar staff also knows who we are, so if you are having trouble finding us I'm sure they will point you to the right direction.

really sorry you were disappointed. i know there were few people in beyond, they were sitting at the back of the bar. i guess this weekend was a little bit of an exception since none of the "old crew" were there. if you decide to join us next week we can pm you a number where you can call if you are having trouble finding the party!

A few more details me and Action have sorted out...

We'll be going to our usual stomping ground...Bar Beyond 7.30pm

In case your not already aware, it's Night of the clubs this Friday:
- Buy one ticket and get access to 20 twenty clubs for the night and free buses to ship you around the city.
- It runs from 10pm to 4am.
- Costs €10 if you buy the ticket in advance and €12 if you buy it on the door.

So, how can we take advantage... I propose starting off in Bar Beyond and then making an earlier than usual (say a bit before 11) exit onto the next place (to be decided) . My top suggestion would be Mantis club/bar, which is just round the corner and participating as one of the 20 clubs, they have a dance area and one of Frankfurts finest roof outdoor drinking areas. From there onwards we can play it by beer and go onwards to another club or two or more.

Great drinks, great people, great clubs, great balls of fire...
