not new to fra but new to the meetups. is everyone deathly young? am going to be out and about with a couple of other integrated semi-embittered anglo women around my age, and wouldn't want to frighten today's youth.

"deathly young" is not entirely accurate, most are in twenties, except for a few gifted individuals ! Our oldest member at the moment is 34 and we have a few barely legals !

Liebe & Seele would be a nice name for some sort of esoteric OTT joint where what's-your-sign and come-here-often get escalated to were-you-here-in-a-past-life-too? and computer stations w/ software for checking compatibility of detailed horrorscopes.

Well sport, it kinda depends on where you're going to be starting from, but the Opernplatzfest is held, somewhat unimaginatively, on Opernplatz (looking up opernplatz frankfurt in your favourite online map-tool or, if you're going lo-tec, on a physical map, should find it for you). If you're taking public transport, that'd be the Alte Oper stop on the U-bahn (U6/U7), but it's also within very, very easy walking distance of the Taunusanlage (all S-bahn lines except S-7) and Hauptwache (U1/U2/U3) stops.

Edit: I forgot to mention that, also somewhat unimaginatively, there is an opera house on Opernplatz. You can't miss it: it's one of the few structures under 20-storeys that make it unto postcards of Frankfurt.

IT would be a good idea to meet at one of the stalls or cafe bars in that area really as nobody will find each other with the plan as it is now...

Most people who have come along before have the FNDC number by now ! Those who do not however can look out for the english speaking crowd hanging around the area of the cuban tent, knocking back the mojitos !

Yep, the coming Friday will be the 27th and it'll be the 27th in lots of places...

PS: The venue for the FNDC doesn't get revealed until late in the week, sometimes as late as the day itself.

We are all English speaking professional expats and students ageing from 20-30, so come along to our meetup if you are in a similar predictament and stuck in Frankfurt or surrounding areas !

Action (usual organiser) is all rest this week as he's on holiday! I've been asked to step in and organise:

FNDC goes to the beach this Friday!

The venue is the Long island summer lounge (see map link below), for those of you that haven't been before, its excellent for Friday drinks, has good music, its on top of a building and decorated with a beach theme... so bring your Hawaiian shirts (not mandatory) and enjoy the cocktails, artificial palm trees, sand and small pools which no one ever swims in (yet). Its open until 1am but the group is likely to move on before this to a place to be decided on the night.

Meeting this Friday 27th 7:30pm onwards.

One warning - is that you sometimes have to pay a €5 entry fee depending on what time your coming and on the doormans mood. I've sent an email to the company asking about being on a guest list/VIP because we're a big group, not sure its going to work but do try telling the door man that your FNDC ('Ich bin FNDC'.. anyone want to correct my German?)

Plan B is to retreat to Waxys, hopefully it wont rain though because the beach club is not so accommodating when the rain comes.

You don't think it will be too cold to be outside? It's gonna be like +13 degrees in the evening.. The place is so amazing when the weather is good!! Such a shame. I'm just worried we are gonna freeze if we stay outside all evening..

It’s quite cold and windy and that’s just now(4:45pm)! It’s a fantastic venue but I’m not sure if tonight is the best night to go?

Hi (Steve here)...is any decision made about tonight? Looks pretty nice outside, but a few people seem concerned about it being too cold I'm easy (...going that is!)

just bring a sweater and you'll be fine... we can go to Waxy's later if it gets to cold
