Hookah bars in Germany

I have seen quite a few Myspace pages of people in Germany all sitting around a table in some cafe smoking out of a hookah. I had no idea that this was ever legal in DE, assuming that they are smoking pot/hash. I know that this is a weird topic to post but has anyone visited one of these cafes? I always wondered how the Mary Jane is in Germany.

Actually, "hookah lounges" where you can smoke flavored tobacco are sort of trendy.

I think it's utterly bizarre, but there you go. As for Deutschland, marijuana is generally decriminalized, but definitely not legal.

You have to recognise the regional differences in attitudes to MJ in Germany even though the federal law is the same.

In Berlin and Hamburg you get people smoking it on the street, not so in Munich.

Apparently, you can grow your own here. Shop in Stuttgart center.

There are plenty of head shops in every large city where you can get paraphenalia but growing your own isn't legal.

I don't know much about bar's, but I once found a hash plantation out on my hunt, and was taken aback as the planter's had a whole irrigation setup for the 20m X 20m plot .

Needless to say the local Polizei found it amusing to say the least when I reported it, and they harvested it.

There are loads of "hash" plantations in Germany, but it is normally just hemp, genetically tweaked to not get you atall stoned.

As MT says, there are shops selling paraphenalia all over the place - in Munich you'll find hundreds of bongs at a shop in the Amelienpassage, called Ali Baba's or something, but the Bavarian police have been known to waste hours and hours and hours of tax payers money processing a "perp" for possesion of 1 solitary gram. Fortunately, the judges here are not quite so fucking blinkered, and throw out such stupid cases before any prosecution occurs. Not that the Munich police are a petty bunch of cunts or anything though...*cough*

Anyways...this is all interesting. When I go to Berlin I might have to try some if I can actually find someone to sell me some. Otherwise I will have to stick to the flavored tobacco. I had a similar discussion with my father the other day and he remembers smoking some really good blond hash from DE...but that was in the 70's. He knew a German guy who would somehow bring some back to the USA.
