Failed my driving license practical test

Hello TTers,
I took the practical test for my driving license today morning, but it seems today is not a very good day for me

I drove very well for the first 30 mins and just before the test was going to end, there was a sharp left turn I had to make in a small street and first of all I missed a pedestrian crossing and then there was a bicyclist coming straight, he was considerably far and so I turned. But the examinator told that I should have stopped in the zebra crossing and the cyclist had to slow down because of me turning, this was not acceptable and so I did not pass the exam

Do you guys have any idea, how long should i wait until my next attempt ? Is there any mandatory time period between successive attempts?

I would recommend waiting until you've learned to drive well enough to pass the test.

Stopped in the zebra crossing? That's a no-no. I suppose you mean before it, that is an absolute must if you even have the impression that someone might want to cross the street.

and cyclists never slow down, if you see one coming a far way off, then you just sit and wait and blink. idiotic, cause no one does it, but well, if it helps you pass.

i'm guessing your driving teacher wants you to do some extra lessons first. that sucks. taking another test will cost you. it is so expensive.

your instructor will tell you when you should do it - i'm pretty sure you're allowed to do it one week later, but you might want to wait a bit longer - good luck.

You've got it all wrong, ask Canaryman. Let me summarise his position for you. Because you made the above statement, you are a low income earner who is just jealous because the BMW/Merc drivers have an expensive car to which you aspire to. Does that sum you up well?

Sorry to hear that Alice. I did my test a few weeks ago (passed, luckily!) and was told that if you fail you must wait 2 weeks before doing the test again. If you fail a second time, you must wait another 2 weeks. If you fail the third attempt, you must wait 3 months.

Talk to your teacher, make sure you understand the reasons he failed you and get a chance to practice those but also make sure you are aware of the things you did well so that your confidence is not knocked - it's down to a lot of things on the day so don't go thinking you're no good, just focus and practice and good luck next time!
