Hello Friends

Wanted a clarification on the Employment Contract Termination.
One of my friend has worked for a Company in Germany , which is a consultant company.
He is been working with them for 22 months now.
He now wants to terminate the contract and join some other company.
In His present Employment contract , The termination notice period of the contract is not mentioned in number of days or months.
But mentioned as "the contract can be terminated by either party after completion of the Statutory Notice Period "

Can somebody tell , what does Statutory Notice Period mean.
Is it related to the amount of years worked with the company?
More information about this is really appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

I'm not sure, but isn't there a set notice period of 3 months or something in germany?
